Lovliest Waiter Ever
Stopped in to Zoe last night looking for a quick bite. We were so pleasantly surprised by the yummy food and even more so by our wonderful waiter. I enjoy good service and this waiter really impressed me. He was friendly, but not invasive, very polite, and just overall so much more pleasant than most people. He made our visit wonderful. He even packed up some cookies for us to take with our doggy bag. I will definitely go back.

The freshest Calamari in TOWN!!!
I went to Zoe's on a Saturday with some co-workers. We were seated right away and the waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and offered some great suggestions. the food was AMAZING! I had the Apple French Toast. It was served with a nice Marscapone sauce. It was divine!!! My colleagues endjoyed their respective meals of green eggs w/ ham and the steak and eggs. The prices were very affordable and food presentation was lovely. Even the bread basket was delicious! Some of the reviews above puzzle me but as a born and bred NY'er who has lived in the city and experienced the best and worst of its restaurants, Zoe's is one of the best!

Awesome
Zoe is always on my to do list when I visit NYC. My last visit here on January 28 was great as ever. The calamari is always a must! I had the black bean soup, and the salmon entree which was perfectly seared- both were amazing. My associate had the lamb shank and loved it too! There are some terrific wines by the glass, our server was very helpful in our selection too. I can't wait to return in April!

Slipery Slope Going Down Hill Fast
Went there last Sunday around 3:30ish no wait yeah I should have known from that. What happened here ? This USED to be one of my all time favorite spots down here. I moved a few years ago and could not wait to come back and get my tuna club as a salad. I swear I used to order this at least once a week when I lived in the area. Before the plate touched the table I noticed the tuna was way too over cooked and sent it right back . I mean it was very well done and not plated as usual. The tomatoes on the plate were almost white they were so sub-standard no more lil crunchy orange strips on the salad . So the tuna came back tripled in size and cooked med rare great but not the quality that it used to be. My Boyfriend had the prix fix it was ok all in all not bad not worth the money though. SAD TO SAY but GOOD BYE ZOE SO LONG ETC I will miss you but the You that used to be that the You that you are now :(

At Zoe spend a lot of Doughy
I would not go back to Zoe. The drinks are wonderful and made with the freshest ingredients but are very expensive. The wine list looks affordable until you realize that the "full" on the menu refers to a full glass of wine as they do have half glasses of wine too. They left us waiting over 20 minutes for our table when we had a reservation and our table was empty and right in front of us. It was as if they wanted us to spend more money at the bar before they sat us. The food was good and the server very sweet but the mgmt is unapologetic and arrogant.

Better than expected
Stopped in to Zoe last Saturday night for dinner becuase Mercer Kitchen had a wait. Having heard mixed things I did not know what to expect but I was too tired to find something else. I have to say it was an honest experience from start to finish. I was sat immediatly, though the space was livley with pre-marathon tourists and some NYers as well. My server was knowladgeble and friendly. I had a great cocktail from their list called a johnny apple seed - very nice indeed. The famous calamari was crispy and fresh and a cauliflower soup was equally good. I shared a pistachio crusted halibut with my friend and he had the market fish, which was escolar. We split sorbets for dessert. Overall, a good find in an area filled with overpriced restaurants. I understand they have been there for 15 years or so and now I know why.
