    super taste

Best Mex in the burg and good value. Favors are layered and intense. They know what they're doing when it comes to Mexican food. Trust me!

Good service - Nice food - a bit scruffy.

We enjoyed a solid and inexpensive dinner of tasty Mexican food.

    Good food...

We ordered the chorizo quesadilla (very good), the pork and chicken tortas (chicken was good, pork a little dry), and steak nachos (good for delivery but nothing special). They threw in a free 2 liter soda, which is nice. The prices aren't accurate (tortas=$6, quesadillas and nachos=$8), but the food was overall good although maybe a bit overpriced.

    Not On the Zocalo Bandwagon

I have tried this place several times over the last few years because due to its close proximity, I keep hoping one of these days I will like it. There is nothing horrible about the joint, but the prices go up every time I order (beware, they are not close to what is listed online) and oftentimes the $10-$11 burrito is lacking in ingredients other than rice and beans. If you're close-by, feeling too lazy to cook, and none of the things mentioned earlier bother you, then check it out.

    Top Mexican Food in Williamsburg

We recently tried another Mexican in the neighborhood which was advertised in New York Magazine's Cheap Eats issue and not even close! Zocalo uses the freshest ingredients. My husband and I have been loyal customers for the last 2 years. When they closed for renovations last winter I called nearly once a week in hopeful anticipation of their opening. This is the place that I always recommend to people if they start moaning about the lack of quality Mexican food in New York. The tacos are not only delicious but healthy. Anything I have ever ordered from their establishment has been top notch. Nachos, and I know that this is not a traditional mexican dish, are out of this world. The meat is so well marinated and tender. And don't get me started on the salsa verde and salsa rojo! I cannot say enough about them.

best takeout mexican in all of Wburg

This place is excellent. Affordable and always on point mexican food. They just remodeled their dining room. It used to be quite depressing but is now a little better and has a tequila bar and beers now. Can't be beat for take out, especially since the rest of this block is severely lacking in good quality food

    Great food, great value!

Great authentic Mexican food, great portions. The chicken torta is tops, and so are all the burritos. Delivery can be slow during the lunch rush, but so worth it.
