Delicious!
Everything tasted wonderful. We went on a Tuesday and the restaurant was empty which is a little alarming but I guess its the world's be kept secret because the food was really good. The baba ganush (sp?) was the best I've ever had everything else was spiced to perfection. we will definitely be going back again.

New Waitress Saves the Day!
I must say that after reading the previous reviews, I warned all of my dinner guests that we might be in for a long night. Fortunately for us, we were taken care of by a wonderfully attentive, albeit green, waitress by the name of Paola. And while she wasn't fully knowledgable about the menu or the bar, she was very friendly and enthusiastic to keep us happy. And in regard to the food? What can I say that hasn't been said already? Top-notch. Really good. If you had closed your eyes and listened to our table, you would have thought something obscene was going on. We really enjoyed the food. I knocked one point off the atmosphere because I found the music too clubby for such a romantic place. But apart from that, go...before everyone finds out about this place and you can't get a table.

Don't go if you're starving but worth the wait
Lucky we were in no hurry last night. The food was worth waiting for but boy, did it take a long time. And don't plan on communicating with your wait person - no one speaks any English. Maybe that's why the food was so good. My husband swears there was a little old Moroccan lady in the back doing all the cooking by herself. That's certainly what it tasted like - ummmm, ummm homemade good! The meze plate is typical but they were very generous with their basket of warm, soft pita. If they ahve them, try the short ribs - succulent and rich. Portions are huge. The baklava at the end was more like strudel - best I've ever had. And the warm flourless chocolate cake was worth the 20 minute wait. In short - don't go it you're short on time, have a train to catch or are on your way to a movie or a show. But if you have a leisurely evening to spend, this place is for you.

Fantastic food overwhelmed by service
Went to Zerza last night with 3 friends and was seated promptly; they were even polite about my one joker friend being twenty minutes late. This was my first experience with Moroccan food, so while I'm certainly no expert, everything we had was delightful. Everyone's dishes were well-spiced and despite the rich flavors never felt heavy. Recommend the patatas bravas and the duck and lamb tergines. The one issue which decidedly overwhelmed the experience, however, was the horrendous service. Despite having 3 people (host, waiter, waitress) involved in serving our drinks and dishes, the service was wildly inattentive. We waited almost 90 minutes after ordering to get our entrees, and even if you can make some sort of argument about preparation time, at one point it took a full 45 minutes to get a second cocktail. I can say with certainty that a 3-ingredient cocktail never takes 45 minutes. The service was so bad that on some level it was impressive - how can 3 people so completely underserve a restaurant that only has a dozen tables?

Great, great, place!
I'm giving ZERZA 5 stars because It is hard to find nice ambiance places with good food options for vegetarians and meat lovers but ZERZA met our expectations! So I went with 3 friends. We were pleasantly surprised by the choices that the menu offers and the freshness and tastiness of the food. The food is really scrumptious : To start, we had the meze plate, the arugula salad and the merguez . Then we got the lamb couscous and the vegetarian one, the bastilla and the mrouzia tagine. Nothing was left on our plates ! Everything was perfect. We also got the fig ice-cream and flourless chocolate cake with some delicious hot mint tea.. It was a nice way to finish our meal ! The service was attentive and prompt. The cocktails (mojitos, caipirinhas, la poire ) were really really delicious and the red wine and rose wine good as well. The ambiance there is really nice and I really think it is a good bargain that can cater to a romantic date night or a fun night out with friends since it does have options for all palates.
