Went to this place for a going away party. It's a little trendier then I am into these days and the crowd was exactly what you would expect at happy in mid-town. That, however, was not the problem. It was the poor service! The waitress took at least 20 minutes to bring us our drinks and when, after about 10 minutes, we asked the bartender, who was not doing anything, if she could just make us our drinks instead, she said that we had to go through the waitress. Later, when we still did not have our drinks, the bartender actually went with "we are out of glasses" and proceeded to make a drink for someone else. To be fair, once we got the drinks, they were pretty good; as was the guac. I suspect if you eat there, you might enjoy yourself, though it is expensive.

I've been here twice since it has opened. Now I don't have to go to DC to their other location to get their yummy food! Get the Vegetariano Rolls, the Achiote-Hoisin Pork Arepas, and the Wok Fried Rice! Oh, and if you drink alcohol, get the Mango Mojito. If you don't drink, get the Strawberry Lemonade! I went with 8 other people and we all ate well for about $250! Love it! Love it! Love it!

prices are WAY too high to last in this location. food is decent, decor is great - but they need to get the prices right. I have seen so many failed restaurants here. went on a corporate lunch, and i'm pretty sure they screwed up my bill - all the prices were a dollar or two higher, i think i was charged dinner prices instead of lunch. also, the sushi was just plain bad .

I guess if you work nearby it is probably a great addition to the neighborhood. At diner its a waste of time unless you like sitting in a half empty restaurant on a Saturday night. I mean 9pm on a Saturday and they cant fill the seats and the place had ZERO vibe. Its a shame because the decor is great and the food is decent. In our city with so many great places to go you must do better than this. I give it 6 months max. Go at your own risk.

I live in the neighborhood, and was reluctant to try this place, knowing that the spot is "cursed"..pleasantly surprised...very tasty portions, very friendly & attentive service..hot & sour soup was great, crispy calamari salad was delish..pork noodles with soft boiled egg was amazing...I will come back..:)

So glad that our anticipation for Zengo was not disappointed...we live & work in the area, and are happy to have a good lunch option as well as a sexy evening spot. 1st of all, the place looks amazing. 2nd: good staff & service. Our menu faves from our first visit: hot & sour egg drop soup w/foiegras dumpling, delicious broth; thai shrimp lettuce wrap, sweet & spicy; 'volcano' sushi roll w/seared salmon, & chipotle tuna roll; duck tacos using thin round slices of daikon, instead of a tortilla; halibut w/kimchee and pineapple salsa; short ribs...sauce distinctly latin-asian, not too rich like so many other short ribs; and the scallops, which I want to eat again, very good. Top dessert for me was the goat cheese flan. Recommended, will definitely return.
