Great for Groups! Awesome small plates!

Went to Zengo with some friends, ordered a bunch of small plates and appetizers and shared. Everything we ate was delicous! The fried rice, dumplings, and the shrimp lettuce wraps were probably my favorite, but you really can't go wrong. It is a great place to go with another couple. For the amount of food we ordered, the bill was extremely reasonable. The atmostphere was great from where we were, which was towards the front of the restaurant. I imagine it could get loud the farther back you are. The service was not the best. Our waiter kept forgetting about us and forgot one of our dishes. It might have been due to where we were seated, but it was somewhat frustrating. Overall, i would absolutely recommend this place.

    Great Local Dinner Spot

Not too often I find a great spot to go on a weekend evening in Mid Town East - my wife and I typically need to travel to the village. Overall food was fantastic, short rib udon noodle dish was great...my fav was the Tuna tacos though, great flavors! Drinks were outstanding as well. I thought service was top notch...attentive yet not overbearing and willing to offer some good opinions. Added bonus is the Tequila bar downstairs, 'La Biblioteca'...my wife and I shared a flight of tequila after the meal and really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recoommend (not cheap, portions a bit small, but worth it anyways!)

    Amazing space, decent taste

I have marginally enjoyed other Sandoval spots, but was definitely impressed with the decor and food in this typically "cursed" space. My friend and I dined early so the service was good (though the server could have hovered a little less given the minimal patronage). The volcano roll was decent and the tuna tacos were amazing. The short ribs were excellent - sweet and savory. The mango mojito is a must-have and the bartender was super friendly (we transitioned to the bar after occupying our table for 2+ hours for dinner). Overall, between the food and the ambience, it is worth giving this joint a shot. Definitely take a trip upstairs if you are dining downstairs - the catwalk is a little intense after a few mojitos! Beware - it is pricey...but what isn't nowadays?!

    Never Again

This restaurant encompasses every reason why I don't eat in my neighborhood. This Asian Latino fusion menu appears confused and makes a ghetto "chino-latino" restaurant look better. The food was barely palatable and the flavors are far from harmonious. Save your time and money.

    Really Good, but..

Overall the food is quite tasty. The only real issue I had is that the portions are small for what you are paying. The tuna tacos were great as was the skirt steak.

Best Asian Mexican cusine in NY

This is definitely a must go place if you are looking for great good and a very tasty and creative menĂº, with the perfect mix of Asian and Mexican flavors. Aldo, cocktails made from different types of tequila are amazing. Try the Peking Duck tacos!

    Entrees together?

We live in the area. Soup was great and then my entree came out. I waited and waited and waited for the other entree. It finally came and we were told that "the chef" sends them out as they are finished. WHO at home or professionally doesn't know to serve entrees together?
