Excellent
Beautiful decor, excellent service...Chorizo gyozas were moist and flavorful, pork arepas okay. For the main we had the short ribs and the black cod. The ribs were succulent, the cod out of this world. My tamarind margarita was one of the best margaritas I have ever had. Finally, churros. Light and airy, with rich chocolate sauce. We didn't leave a crumb. We will go back, even though it's pricey.

sorry we didnt go elsewhere
service was slow and the food was poor - chicken was fatty, dumplings were uncooked and pasty. upbeat location but food was subpar and we waited a long time to be served.

Not what I expected
Got invited for the first time on my birthday. Disappointed because the service was slow. Waitress is not knowledgeable how to serve. Did not follow the steps what to serve first or did not ask the sequence. Very disappointed and will not come back.

Go somewhere else
The restaurant is beautiful and very happening. The food was just average and the service was disappointing. Our waiter brought out all the food at once! The edamame, appetizers and main course. so Weird. So many other places to go in NYC.

not worth the wait
Food quality was good, however portions were fairly small for the price. The major problem was the "service". We sat for 30 minutes before anyone even came over and asked if we would like something to drink., and that was the best part of the service. It was sit and wait from start to finish. Will not return, not worth the stress.

Great for Groups! Awesome small plates!
Went to Zengo with some friends, ordered a bunch of small plates and appetizers and shared. Everything we ate was delicous! The fried rice, dumplings, and the shrimp lettuce wraps were probably my favorite, but you really can't go wrong. It is a great place to go with another couple. For the amount of food we ordered, the bill was extremely reasonable. The atmostphere was great from where we were, which was towards the front of the restaurant. I imagine it could get loud the farther back you are. The service was not the best. Our waiter kept forgetting about us and forgot one of our dishes. It might have been due to where we were seated, but it was somewhat frustrating. Overall, i would absolutely recommend this place.

Great Local Dinner Spot
Not too often I find a great spot to go on a weekend evening in Mid Town East - my wife and I typically need to travel to the village. Overall food was fantastic, short rib udon noodle dish was great...my fav was the Tuna tacos though, great flavors! Drinks were outstanding as well. I thought service was top notch...attentive yet not overbearing and willing to offer some good opinions. Added bonus is the Tequila bar downstairs, 'La Biblioteca'...my wife and I shared a flight of tequila after the meal and really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recoommend (not cheap, portions a bit small, but worth it anyways!)
