Two thumbs up!!!
Went to Zaytoons with friends for dinner and had an overall great time. Lentil soup, Hummas, Shrimp Kabob, Leg of Lamb and Turkish Salad were outstanding!!! My boyfriend ordered the Merguez spiced lamb sausage and he was the only on at the table disappointed as it was over cooked. In addition, the waitress was not very friendly but one of the workers saw me shivering as the AC was on high and turned it downed without me even asking. Then he came back 5 mins later to make sure we were OK with the temperature. Overall we will be back for the yummy food and a great price!!!

wtf happened?
The place used to be great, but it has gone down as of lately. I don't know if it was sold or something-I don't see the original crew anymore... Something has changed and not for the better.

The BEST middle eastern food you will ever try. Ever.
My boyfriend and I have been a regular at Zaytoons for about a year now. When we moved away from Clinton Hill in March, the only thing we could think about was how we would fill the void in our lives that we have come to know as Zaytoons. Zaytoons is the friend you can always count on. When you've had a long hard day and need someone to lean on, Zaytoons is there. When you want to sit back and celebrate with some good friends over a bottle of wine, Zaytoons is there. The falafel sandwich is amazing. The chicken shwarma is amazing. The hummus is amazing. The babaganoush is amazing. The pita bread is amazing. There is no end to the amazingness of the food here. In the year that we've been going here, we honestly have never strayed from the above mentioned because it is so good we feel guilty even thinking about ordering anything else. The warm pita bread and hummus plate is quite possibly the best piece of food I've ever put in my mouth. I don't know why more people don't know about this place, but I'm glad they don't because this place is a true gem.

Good Food, Poor Attitude
Again, the food may be the best you have had regarding Middle Eastern choices. The hummus and babaganoush are tremendous. The grilled Lamb Kebebs are to die for. Their pitas are fresh and melt-in-your mouth. Their attitude is not so good. I think when I go there: Why are there no more people here?

Mmm!
I have only had Zaytoon's food delivered, but it has always been tasty and filling. I love having delicious AND healthy food just a call away. The chicken kabob is really good, and Zaytoon's rice is also a treat. Forget about asking for supplements or substitutes to your delivery meal, though. They usually don't listen or remember. But if you order off the menu and make no changes, you're guaranteed a good meal.

Such a disappointment
My girlfriend and I have been ordering from Zaytoons for over a year now. We absolutely love their food. However, two times now, when attempting to eat inside the restaurant, we have been extremely angered by their lack of concern for their customers. The first time was on a week night. The food was great and we had brought our own bottle of wine. After running out of water and finishing our meal, we waited and waited and waited for our server to come back to fill our water or bring the check. While waiting, we decided we wanted a hookah (after seeing someone else get one minutes before). After at least 30 minutes, our waitress finally came with water and told us that they were unable to make hookahs because it was too late. Fine. 10 minutes later, after putting my card in the sleeve, a group of students walked in asking to be seated at a table. They only wanted a hookah. Our server told them no but after they argued with her for a minute or two, she finally agreed. The front room is extremely small so there was no way of hiding her actions, yet she said nothing to us. When she came back, I told her I was displeased and she gave me some lame excuse and offered to make us one. I said no. The next time we came in, she remembered us and gave us one for free. She redeemed herself. Last night, my girlfriend's parents came in from out of town. We wanted to take them to Zaytoons for dinner and sit in the back. The man who greeted us told us we had to wait 15 minutes for the back room to be ready and we all agreed that it would be fine. I should've known something was up when he looked put out after we agreed. We came back after 15 minutes and he was on the phone. Another female server told us that they weren't opening the back because it wasn't busy. She refused even after we told her what we were told when we first came in. The guy even watched us while he was on the phone and did nothing. I hate to say it but we will never eat here again unless the management changes. It's unfortunate that one of the few restaurants in Clinton Hill serving great food at a reasonable price has to also have some of the worst service in the city.
