Pricy, but good food
Glad there's a real coffee shop in this neighborhood with yummy food. However, it is really expensive and they don't have wifi, so it's not ideal if you want to get work done there. I go there all the time, but mostly because it's conveniently-located for me.

I Love Zanny's!
Best atmosphere. Avoid the 8:30 am students. Great neighborhood place. Coffee is always hot hot hot.

tough, unripe, tepid
The French toast was tough (and without redeeming flavor), the fruit was unripe, and the coffee was tepid. In spite of the consistency problems I've had across the street at Crepes on Columbus, I'll be back there sometime for another try, but not here.

Unmet Potential
I was very excited about this place as I passed it everyday on my way to the subway. When I finally stopped in the service was great, the coffee wasn't. So I gave it another chance, the second time the coffee was still no good and so was the carrot cake. Very disappointing and not so cheap.

Best coffee shop in the City
Great coffee, friendly staff. Perfect, except around 8:30 in the morning when filled with junior high students from across the street.

Great food, great atmosphere
If you want a relaxed, low key place to enjoy breakfast with a friend, do work, or just grab a sandwich, Zanny's is the place to go. The egg wraps are all amazing, the sandwiches and salads are also very tasty. Everything tastes fresh and healthy. The owner and people who work there are all veyr friendly. It feels like a San Franscisco coffee house... that has miraculosuly apreared in NYC. A wonderful place overall.

Nice neighborhood spot
Good to see a locally owned and operated alternative to Starbuck's. Zanny actually exists and works here! This great little spot is part of the revitalization of Amsterdam & Columbus Avenues. It's not the coziest in layout or decor, but you can tell that the folks who come here are from the area and that there is a real community feel here. Good for a pick-me-up coffee or sandwich, or you Columbia grad students can stick around to work on your laptop or read papers.
