Watch out vegetarians
I can't believe what a horrible experience I had. I was so excited that a well know burger place would cater to vegetarians only to leave with a turkey burger instead of the veggie one that I ordered. I called to inquire and the waitress said that's what she thought I ordered. As a life long vegetarian, I certainly did not order a turkey burger and am very upset after having a few bites and realizing. I will never be back.

great food
One of the best burgers in town for me. Never had a bad experience in the years we have ordered from the location on AveB.

Mediocre at best
I am a guy who loves burgers and am always looking to try a new place in the hopes I will find Burger Nirvana. Zaitzeff is definitely not that place. The burgers are way overpriced and overhyped for what you get, and you have to pay extra for fries that I can only describe as pathetic. As for the burger itself, it's dinky, bland, and on the dry side. The kicker is that it's served on an english muffin, not a real bun. I guess they are trying to make the burger look bigger by comparison. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. NYC is full of diners that serve a great burger WITH fries for much less dough.

Expensive for what you get.
Not much for you money. The burger is good, but way too expensive for the size and the level of service. The people that run the place are nice but the one in Fin Dist is small and noisy. All in All I would not really see the point of going again unless in a bind, and I live just down the street.

Don't bother!
I don't understand what all the fuss is about, and how this place has the nerve to charge $8.75 just for the basic burger, (fries are extra.) The burger is just okay and it's fried! For $8.75 that burger should be flame-broiled to absolute perfection. The fries were just okay. We ordered a mix of regular and sweet potato fries that were bland and soggy. The service and atmosphere are both pleasant enough, but not enough to make me fork over $8.75 for a burger I could easily duplicate at home.

I wish it were as good as it used to be ...
For quite a few years this unique financial district shop had the best veggie burger and egg sandwich ever. And they were perfectly constructed so that one could pick them up and they didn't fall apart ... no matter how many ingredients they held. What happened to the person that knows how to build the sandwich with perfect balance? The past few orders I've had fell woefully short of the standards already in place, with big fat tomato slices that upset the once graceful equilibrium. What happened to the person who knew the difference between a ripe avocado and an indigestible one? I also have to wonder how much it cost to repair the slicer that was used on the avocado that was on the veggie burger that I just had delivered. I was hoping it was just a temporary lapse, but after several orders of the same ilk, it looks permanent. The fries are still good. Too bad that perfect veggie burger seems to be a thing of the past.

The BEST Egg sandwich
I stop by here several days a week because I crave the egg and cheese sandwiches. You cannot find a better one in the city! DELICIOUS!
