    amazing pasta

one of the few places where the pasta is actually al dente. the choice is limited but the quality is great. charming outdoor garden in the back

    Overpriced mediocrity

Food and atmosphere this boring should not cost so much. 2 pasta dishes (1 disappointing, 1 good)+1 appetizer +2 glasses of wine=$90 is a bit unreasonable.

    Worst meatballs

They claim to have the "Neighborhoods best meatballs" WRONG. they were burned like they were waiting to be eaten all day. Its a cute place in the back- but there are a lot of bugs as you would expect. Went for a casual meal with one girlfriend- ended up paying over 80 bucks, and we didnt have any drinks. Diet coke= $12.00. WHAT?!

    A mixed bag!

This has the atmosphere of a neighborhood pizza place but with overpriced food. For instance, these are white tablecloth prices but the tables are covered in butcher paper. The staff was very friendly and pleasant but seemed a little out of it. As an example, in Italian restaurants my wife and I usually share a pasta for our pasta course and then each orders a main course. This is what we did and it was surprising that the waiter asked if we wanted all the courses brought to the table at the same time - a bit strange. The pasta was quite good. my wife had grilled swordfish, which was good but sort of plain. I had tuna, which was essentially raw with grill marks on either side. The menu stated that hte tuna was "sushi quality" and the waiter advise that the chef suggests "medium rare" but this came out raw. I prefer my sashimi sliced and with appropriate Japanese dipping sauce - I don't expect raw fish in an Italian restaurant. Both fish portions were gererous. So, to summarize, this place would probably be okay if you stuck to pasta dishes; otherwise it is way overpriced for what you get. There are far better Italian restaurants in the neighborhood.

    Amazing

I have been going here for years and every time it's amazing. It is a little overpriced, but not that much more than other restaurants in the area. The staff is so friendly and the pastas are amazing.

    don't miss this small treasure

my family and i love this restaurant because the italian food is extremely authentic. You really cannot find this quality anywhere else besides in italy. The pastas are fresh and everything is cooked properly, they really just know what they are doing. The owners are straight from italy and have brought their home cooking from to new york. You must try this place and the take out and delivery service is also fabulous

too little for the prices they charge

Just had my first dinner at Za Za last night - i live in the neighbourhood and somehow never went to this place before. Its an ok place, with ok decor, ok food but the prices charged for what it is do not match. Paying $19 for a mediocre pasta is not what i call getting the bang for your buck. This place should be 5-10 bucks cheaper across the board to be worth it. I would suggest going to a different italian place where for $20 you get a good entree.
