    Excellent food and service!

The food is just amazing here! I have not found a better Indian restaurant in the whole of NY city! The appetizer selection is pretty unique especially the okra crunch.I havent tasted a better biryani in my life .The buffet lunch on weeknds is definetly something to look forward to andI have been going there almost every week since I first had lunch there on a late Sunday afternoon...I highly recommend the place.

    Awesome food!

I noramlly don't take the time to write reviews, but I had to comment on my visit to Yuva. My husband and I dined here tonight, and the food and service were truly excellent. Normally Indian food is greasy, but here we ordered saag paneer and gobi and requested them with no cream and low oil. We were surprised by how light the dishes were and yet how they flavorful they were at the same time. The hariyali chicken kebab was also tender and flavorful. We'll definitely be back. This is one Indian restaurant worth a visit!

We drive 120 miles just to eat here

We live in Central NJ and have been for a good Indian restaurant in NJ for ever...no luck yet. We found Yuva (formerly Bukhara/Khyber... fortunately the chef is still the same) in 2002 and this has been our favorite restaurant ever since and we drive 60 miles each way just to eat there...sounds even crazier when I say that we do this sometimes on week days. This is the place that converted to my vegetarian wife to start eating meat and she is now "lovin' lamb chops". They make the best grilled Indian food and breads anywhere....their curries and desserts are also great. Checkout their Hariyali Chicken...that's just great. This is also one of very few Indian restaurants where you will find some really good creative dishes and presentation. I love the way they make grilled seabass...it is really unique and the taste is out of the world. Their food is also generally healthy without too much of the scary looking red color used in tandoor dishes etc., and you will generally go back home with a good feeling in the stomach...unlike the rest (or most) of the Indian places. If you are looking for the right place to introduce someone to Indian food.....this is the place and you will not regret recommending this. I have recommended this place to quite a few friends of mine and they all love it. Hope you too will.

    My Real Frontier

I came to New York on work, I read about 'Yuva' in Midtown, Manhattan that serves Frontier Indian food", so it got me curious, as I actually hail from that part of the country (Rawalpindi), & I never expected that a restaurant in NYC would serve my authentic frontier food..in such an amazing environment, it was a blend of the real food (to my taste buds) & the modern ambiance. I have tried a lot of Indian restaurants that serve somewhat similar barbequed items, but this is the only place that uses authentic Peshawari grill for the real charcoal flavour to make the frontier speciality 'Kakori & Chapali kababs' soooo gooood, and also their Raan was so tender and juicy that it just melted in the mouth, alongwith the mint paratha and of cos our homelands favourite 'sheermal' bread. It was such a pleasant experience as the owner and the Chef Dhandhu Ram personally came to greet me as I had mentioned to the server that I am from the frontier region, they were really happy to get my feedback ! I mean I was more than satisfied by the flavours, the aroma the friendly service and the feel of Yuva. Needless to say... I strongly recommend this place.

    Best Indian Ever!

We landed here by mistake - it was a Saturday, past 2:30pm and the other well known 58th street indian places were closing/closed. They were open. Began w/their recommendation; an eggplant appetizer DELICIOUS & UNIQUE! Pannir in an Amazing tomato sauce. The Treat: the Entreeesss! the chicken charcoal w/herbs was moist and so incredibly TASTY- my husband had two (they were not little portions-simply unbelievable). I had the chicken tikka masala which was the best I've had (sorry Auntie Judy) - and they Know Spicy as good Chefs do - the taste is still there. HIGHLY Recommend .

    Wonderful food, disappointing chai

I went to Yuva recently for a Sunday lunch buffet, and the food was wonderful - from freshly baked nan and dosas, through a nice selection of veggie and non-veggie main dishes to mango ice cream and halwah dessert. When we ordered Masala Chai at the end of the lunch, however, what arrived tasted like instant Lipton tea, had no spices or milk and was barely drinkable. I happen to love masala chai, and I especially need some to help digest good food so this was a true disappointment.

    Must Try

I had dinner at Yuva the other night on a friend's recommendation. That friend is now a better friend. This new restaurant has the making of a real hotspot. The food had no oil and the flavors were just right.....unlike many other restaurants that over spice the food with too much heat. The Raan was absolutely delicious it was so tender the meat literally fell off the bone. In terms of service the owner Kedar Shah personally greeted us and made us feel like his own personal guests. Ambiance is so refreshing from the typical sitar playing restaurants I've been to in the past. It's got this earthy shiekness which is very soothing. Highly recomend.
