Yummy for sure!
The ambiance of the restaurant is great, but their food is really consistent. I usually order delivery online and it's always what I expect it to be. The servers are super friendly and their bus boys are quick and efficient. Love this place.

Bad Pad Thai
I love this place. But maybe because I ordered the beef pad thai luncheon special last minute, not certain. I have had this dish many places. Its very delicious and tasty. Hard to mess it up. This time it tasted extremely sweet. I'm going to give them a pass for now, only because I've eaten here several times and its be yummy. I guess I'll stick to going to the restaurant instead of delivery.

Vegetarians beware
We were initially so excited to welcome a new ethnic restaurant to the neighborhood but were soon disappointed to find out many of our favorite items (including *all* of the curries and the pad thai as well as other noodle dishes) are made with fish sauce. We were told the sauces are pre-prepared by the chef and cannot be modified. The dishes we've had, including the Thai fried rice and the pad see ew, have been quite good. However, if the restaurant has tofu, you would think they would cater to vegetarians. For a much better Thai experience (including the ability to modify dishes to fit vegan and vegetarian diets), Bombay Heights is well worth it in Washington Heights. Funny that they are both owned by the same people....

Good but inconsistent
I avoided Yummy Thai for their first 8-9 months in business mainly because I was shocked by the prices. They are definitely one of the pricier Thai restaurants in town, not counting the trendy upscale places, of course. I mean, $12.95 for pad see ew or pad thai is definitely up there. However, the food and service are good. The pad see ew had good flavour (not too sweet) and the noodles aren't super thick like those used at lesser Thai joints. The salmon curry is very good, as is the the tamarind duck. I'm willing to splurge every now and then for the tasty food. The one catch is the inconsistency. The first time I got the salmon curry, it was good but a bit watery. Next time I requested it spicy and it was full-flavoured and just about perfect. Another time I requested is spicy again and it was really watery yet mind-numbingly spicy...how did they manage that?!? Also, while the tamarind duck was a respectable dish, it had been put in my takeaway order instead of the Emperor Duck which is what I'd requested. Another time, I ordered pad kra pow chicken but got pad kra pow shrimp (and charged accordingly). Strange mistakes. Still, Yummy Thai is good enough that I will return and take my chances. It's not like we have other Thai options in Inwood!

I Love It!
Great Food! Great Atmosphere! Great Service! All of the Spanish restaurants in Inwood have the worst service in all of Manhattan. This place seems to care about their customer's satisfaction. Spanish restaurant owners please take notes from Yummy Thai in Inwood!
