We visited this restaurant recently, and we must say, we were very disappointed. We used to really enjoy Yum Yum, and we used to recommend it to friends and clients, but no more. Firstly, the service was poor. Once seated, the server paid little attention to us, basically ignoring us. We ordered a dish and specifically asked for no peanuts as we do not like them. The dish arrived with lots of peanuts on it. Also, we ordered a couple of shrimp dishes, which in the past were good, but this time the dishes had no flavor, the portions much smaller, and the shrimp were definitely not fresh, and tasted badly. If this was not enough, when the bill arrived, the gratuity (20% citing "great service") was added to the bill. Now, despite the poor service, we still had every intention of tipping, but having the gratuity added, especially citing great service, we felt taken advantage of. Unbelievable, and unacceptable. There are now plenty of other Thai restaurants in Hell's Kitchen, and Yum Yum Bangkok has sunk to the bottom of the list.

Cheap but quality food. My favorite Thai place

This place was inviting from the outside but as soon as we walked through the squeaky door we should have turned around. The smell in there was unbearable and it was so dark it was hard to see. This was maybe a good think as we could see less of our food! Our starters came, soup... Very strange taste and smell! Spring rolls were ok as was the red Thai curry but "ok" is as far as I would go. Then came the ice cream dessert, some sort of black bean ice cream... It was similar in colour to a green camo uniform dipped in mud.

I have been coming to Yum Yum for years! The food is always fresh, delicious, tasty, and the people here are extionally warm. You cannot beat their $6.95 lunch special which consists of a great sized entree, and 2 choices of an appetizer. I never eat anywhere else but here when I am craving Thai food!

I've been living in HK for 8 months and I still don't know the difference between the three yum-yums. I've been to both yum-yum bangkok and yum-yum 2. It's the typical thai dishes and they both taste the same. The food is okay, the mojitos are good, but the place is a bit tight.

I also work in the Area so ordering from different places is always interesting. My regular request is to order from Yum Yum Bangkok. The service is fast and they never forget plates forks or the lunch salad. Once I walked out without remembering my soup and they chased me down two blocks later. This is a great place for lunch in NYC. I highly reccommend it

If you're looking for good Thai in HK, this isn't the place to get it. I have had better Thai food in Alabama. Not horrible, but there are loads of better places around.
