Excellente!! Small restaurant with lovely decor and character. Dined here w/ 3 girlfriends on Friday night for a birthday dinner (the restaurant takes great care to celebrate at the table) ... service was wonderful, owner/manager present and involved, food is muy delicioso -- especially pappas rellenas and arepas. Salmon and short ribs are tasty - don't pass up churros for dessert - great prices on bottles of wine ... a real winner - I would definately return.

Your night at Yerba Buena should start out by selecting from a wide variety of unique Latin cocktails. (Yes the mojito’s are good – but I suggest experimenting with some of the others.) For appetizers you must – repeat – must try the Arepa’s. Arepa’s are tiny little sandwiches with short ribs and cabbage on a delicious little corn roll. Beyond that – everything on the men good – the steak, the fish, the guacamole, the salads, and desert – todo. The capper for Yerba Buena is the service. The charming owner is constantly circling the restaurant making sure that everyone is having a great experience – and his staff has done a great job following his lead. Everyone I have sent to Yerba Buena comes back with rave reviews – Highly recommended.

I had some friends visit from Boston and looked at a couple of alternatives on the LES. Chose this place based on the good reviews on this website. We called but they do not take reservations, but nevertheless assured us that if we showed up at 7:30 pm the wait would not be longer than 20-30min. Showed up with my girlfriend at the respective time and our 2 other friends came 5 min later. We were told at that point that the wait would be around 40 min and we could have a drink at the bar in the meantime. We had a couple of beers and mojitos and we checked back with the host on our seating. At this point we were informed that we had to wait an additional hour because supposedly our friends had arrived 5 minutes after us and we were bumped down the reservation list! My only explanation for their attitude is that the place was packed so they did not care if one left or not after waiting. While i did not have any food there (hence the neutral 3 star rating) i feel very disappointed that i wasted time and effort with this place and dont think this is a proper way to conduct business. Needless to say we left the place at that time and went somewhere else. The conclusion is that if you take a date or somebody that has some sort of schedule and is not prepared to be mobbed in waiting for 2 h you can give this place a shot but personally i will not return.

We were looking for a place to have a drink and happen to come across this place while in the neighborhood. Started with a mojito and then had the papa rellenas, empanadas and palmitos fries. It was pure heaven. Just wish the portions were bigger.

There's not many restaurants I go to more than once bc I like to try new things, but this one I will make a regular. Beautiful ambiance, food, drinks and incredibly attentive service (the owner was very involved). The guacamole was delicious with a smoked twist and I had an amazing spicy cocktail Poquito Picante. I felt at home here!

Great food, great drinks. The only problem is, it's a little small! But you have to taste this food.

I cant believe how good this place was. Im puerto rican, and i must say that was the best suckling pig i have ever had. The potato croquettes were delicious, and the spinach empanadas. I cant wait to go back!
