Will definitely be back
Everything here was great! Looked at reviews before I went there and they didn't steer me wrong. Of my table, we go the calamari, oxtail, fish tacos and arepas to start. Every one was better than the next! Then for the entrees 2 ppl got the cod which was amazing, 1 paella (not your traditional paella but a great twist) and 1 special which was very good as well. The drinks were all delish and the owner could not have been nicer! He made sure to come around to every table and make sure the partons were happy.

never again
The hostess Laticia was disorganized and extremely rude to us. The food was mediocre at best and pricey. They don’t take reservations and the restaurant is small and cramped. I wouldn’t recommend anyone waste their time because you can certainly get better latin food in a city like New York.

6 years?
To MP, who wrote that Yerba Buena has been his/her "best friend" since they moved to NYC 6 years ago: Yerba Buena only opened two years ago.

An experience beyond the standard
Yerba Buena has been my best find since I moved to NY 6 years ago. Upon walking into the restaurant, you are almost immediately greeted by the sound of shakers and the sight of cocktails that don't look like the run-of-the-mill you'd normally expect to see. That's when I met (and fell in love with) 'Poquito Picante', the most exquisite cocktail I've ever had. The bartenders are excellent mixologists, especially Artemio who runs the bar. They are quick to interact with patrons and clearly enjoy making their creations. The service is very friendly, attentive, and never rushed. Plus, the owner makes rounds throughout the restaurant, checking on guests to make sure the experience is up to par. Very well thought out business. Anyways, to the food... loved the fluke ceviche (was one of the day's specials the last time I went), heart of palm fries, and the Moqueca (Brazilian seafood dish that to me tasted like a cross between a Spanish Paella and a Thai red curry). Also tried the Jamaica 107 cocktail that night. It too was very smooth and well balanced. Will definitely be worked into my drinking rotation.

highly recommended
been here a handful of times - yet to disappoint. food is terrific, cocktails are stiff, wine list is passable and the service is impeccable. fish tacos or arepas to start, suckling pig or short ribs for a main. they don't take reservations on weekends, so you may have to saddle up to the bar and wait - not necessarily a bad thing with a creative drink menu and professional bartenders, but the small entryway/bar area can get quite crowded. curious to try out their brunch.

Food is so flavorful
Food is so damn good i cant take it. had the arepa, it was crazy awesome how the bbq short ribs and the slaw and jalapeno just all worked. Wife and I both had the Costilla- braised short ribs with the pomegranate. Love the flavor combination of the tender meat with the sweetness of the pom glaze. desserts are ok. come early or make reservations as this place always gets packed at night.

Amazing brunch!
I was very impressed with the food! It was delicious and sooooo flavorful. I had the cubano sandwich which was the perfect portion size. My boyfriend got the suckling pig burger and we both agreed it was the best burg we'd tasted in awhile! The $12 unlimited cocktail deal is nice but refill service could have been quicker. Watch out - margaritas are tastey but strong!! I will definitely go back.
