Yellow Hook Grill

The only reason I go to Yellow Hook is eat a decent burger, have a couple of beers and watch the game! That's it! Service is not good! Food isn't anything close to special. That place could be doing so much better if they would pay attention to people's complaints.

I went a few times there, getting steaks; most of the time it was not how I requested, medium, it was well done. Yesterday they exceeded that, besides that it was well done, also didn't smell good. I couldn't finish it. An unappetizing Fillet Mignon, very small, 6 oz I guess, $25 come on. The rest in my party got other things and they were OK. Once two of us ordered margaritas, one needed alcohol, the other one was so strong like it had only tequila in it.

This is me and my girlfriend's favorite place to go in Bay Ridge. combined with the beer of the months special this place is real good to go to affordable for a night of the week out Food Wise: The burgers are great(although ask for medium if u want medium rare they tend to undercook the meat), the wings are hte best i've had in bay ridge, the lobster's good, good soup, salad wasn't that good though, had clam pie and it was ok. nothing great. but my friend i went with mad a good point "you dont go to an irish place for pizza" basically it's bar food, but it's pretty good. Not going to get anything fancy but i think if you're going to this place, you're not looking for anything fancy. Atmosphere wise: I think the place has a great atmosphere you can tell the owners really care about their restauraunt. The outdoor area is really nice. what's nice is you can just go to the bar and see a mix of the old crowd and young crowd, or go in the back and have a nice dinner with a fireplace too. One of the things I like about it: it's not a tough guy place like Salty Dog, And it's not a depressing place like the tons of irish pubs all over the place. A nice pleasent place that i'm going to miss once i move.

The food was so so, nothing special. The service was not good. The wait staff were all huddled together in a corner and to get our server to break away and actually help us was like pulling teeth. The staff are more interested in hanging out than working. If you are looking for even mediocre service this is not the place for you. It was so bad I got up and went to the bar to get my drink refilled myself because my waitress was nowhere to be found.

they definitely have fantastic burgers, which is what I stick to when i go. usually. honestly the one time i ordered a special it was just ok. the tomatoes in the dish tasted like they were starting to turn & i felt i did not get good value for price that particular dish. so really my review is limited to the beer & burgers & ambiance, all of which is great!

I went with a date and everything we ordered was awesome! I've been back a few times after that, the food is always consistent and very good!(great turkey club). The dining room has a great atmosphere for a date or with family or friends and the food is gourmet delicious. Very good bartenders and friendly staff. I will defiantly be back.
