Yamashiro

I think Yamashiro is the best delivery option in the area which is why I continue to torture myself by dealing with their delivery person. Rude is the only way to describe him. A story: He calls -- shouts at me on the phone to come outside -- when I do, I have to wait while he drives down the block and parks his scooter -- when I pay with tip and ask for $5 in change he says: "It's cold outside so here's $4 instead." He took a dollar from me! Not worth arguing over obviously, but really?! He's been less outrageous since then, but almost always has an attitude. Ugh, Yamashiro, please find a friendly delivery person.

This place is quite good. Now if you think sushi and cream cheese are compatible, then you probably would prefer one of the other local establishments. But if you think sushi is about fish, this is better than the others round here.

The food was quite good. The delivery, however, was subpar. The first time I ordered from this restaurant, the individual delivering was very rude complaining that he had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to our apartment. A week later, I thought I would give them another try. This time, the individual delivering (same guy), call me insisting I come down to get the food. When I got downstairs, he was not there. I walked down the block to the next building, thinking he went into the wrong entrance in our complex and as I was walking back to my apartment, the delivery man drove up on his scooter. He called me over to the scooter to get my food. When I asked him why he did not come inside the building and ring the buzzer, he said he would not do that. He does not walk up stairs. I will not be ordering from this place again.

Very disappointed from a place where i used to order twice a week! It's snowing out side, i called first to make sure they can do deliveries, but 5 minutes latter when i called back with my order, they changed their mind. Bravo Yamashiro!

The sushi has always been fresh and the Asahi, cold!

I wrote the "Barely OK" review, and ended up ordering from them again a few months later. Since then, I've continued to order. I stick to basically the same things, spicy tuna roll, beef negemaki, etc., and though I think it is quite over priced, by about a dollar on everything, I am happier with them than I was. The service is quick and pleasant and the food I order is good. I'd still avoid the bento box though.

The sushi is good but you pay for it.
