I don't know what all the haters are talking about. I love this Yama. The food is great especially the sushi. The service is friendly. And the outdoor garden is very nice in the spring. This is my go to sushi spot.

go to yama, if u want to be asked by five different waiters within 5 minutes asking you if you are ready to order, and then proceedeing to mangle said order....sushi is sometimes good, sometimes not....i had a fishy smelling tuna roll there....and told the manager that i didnt like to complain but this roll tasted weird....his response was that the fish was fine and there was nothing he could do about it... , wont go back again based on principal

Not a bad place at all, and definitely not expensive by local standards. However, their menu is pretty restricted, and if you are not going for sushi your choices are severely limited. Their sake is good but it can easily get as expensive as your whole meal...

Used to be a great value for fresh sushi, fair portions and hip atmosphere. Portions diminished and hype is waning.

Used to come here a lot because of the decent sushi and good value. Came back here yesterday and ordered my usual rolls, except the portions shrank by 50%! The rolls were also poorly made and the rice was not even in the rolls with practically no rice in 25% of the roll. My yellowtail scallion roll had one thin sliver of scallion in it. It was such a disappointment that I'd never go back to this one again. Try Houston or 17th St instead...

Had lunch there and the food was okay, but not as good as the other Yama branches. Also, the sushi was a lot smaller size. The slices were paper thin. Will probably go there again, but only because it is convenient to my office
