service is just excruciatingly slow even though there was only a few tables. waitstaff is rude even when they're the one that made a mistake with my order. and mind you, this is not the first time. food is typical diner. overpriced dessert. $5.95 for a tiny slice of cake? c'mon! perhaps i wouldn't mind paying if they have better service. it's too bad cos i really like the cozy interior.

From my rating, it would seem like I hate this place, but I always keep coming back. I just ordered from them. Yes, the service is awful. The cold "summer soups" are terrible, and nothing on the menu is all that amazing, with exception to the salads. But I work nearby, and I smoke cigarettes, and this is one of my favorite lunch spots because on a nice day, you can sit on the patio and smoke cigarettes. And for that, I keep coming back.

So Yaffa Cafe is only good if you stumble past it at 3 AM starving when nothing else is open. The atmosphere is original but really, it's a glorified diner. The only good thing about this place is Hefeweizen bottled beer with the berber chicken entree. I just called for a delivery at 10PM on a Fri night. They deliver until 11PM and the guy on the phone wouldnt deliver to me because he said they were too busy. this is the 2nd time. So I cant get delivery and when I have gone in to eat, the staff is never helpful. I've waited tables before and this place I assure you has the laziest & most miserable servers in Manhattan - poor service with an attitude. I can handle good service with an attitude. So, if you are starving and it's late, or you want to chill outside with some friends and drink during the day, check out the back yard. That is if you are lucky enough to be there when it's actually open and staffed.

In a city where there are so many options, this is not among the best. Went to yaffa last night and the service was subpar (as always), food was bland and poor quality and place was not too clean I was especially surprised with how bad the service was-very much an attitude of entitlement coming from the host, cashier and waitstaff...

I always loved their food, and got delivery quite often, until I just called and the guy don't deliver to my side of the street, and they never did! I live on the north side of 14th between 1st and 2nd, and the nasty guy on the phone took my order, then called me back and told me they will not deliver to me. I've gotten delivery from here many times...but i guess no more.

This place is usually packed with all kinds of people. Veg friendly, service is slow and inattentive. Took about an hour for a meal for 4 to come out of the kitchen. Salad was small. After inspecting the rest, the vegetable stir fry I had was tasty but nothing special, and the chocolate molten cake was very good. The atmosphere is unique. It's an ok value, but after going here a few times I wouldn't go back again.

The shrimp scampi is really spectacular. This is the best place to go to 24hours a day for great fun atmosphere. Its got shiny wall paper, lights, and all sorts of do dads on the walls. Really fun, and the menu is mostly vegetarian, with a lot of healthy and yummy choices. The Avocado Melt is really great too..i get it with brie cheese.
