When I kept passing the Wai?Cafe on the street, I thought it looked like a funky joint, but oh the mistake I made! No wonder this place is so cheap! My boyfriend and I thought we'd sit in the advertised garden, which is a tiny rectangle surrounded by fake bamboo. The worst part however, is the noise level! The restaurant's exhaust fan from the kitchen blows right onto the "garden", so one is barely able to hear their own voice. The ambience would be 100% without said fan. I ordered the veggie burger, but had specifically asked for "no rice", and, of course, my burger was on a bed of rice. As usual, we had to flag the waiter down for our check, despite the fact that he was cleaning a table next to us. To his credit, however, our water glasses were kept constantly full. The food. The veggie burger is made of ground rice, and served on a bed of rice. The burger didn't taste good, clearly some kind of ground rice product. My boyfriend got the linguine marinara, which was pretty good. We ended up switching meals, as he is a big fan of rice, but even he said the burger tasted odd. The best part of the meal was the apple cider I ordered, but it wasn't worth the $22 we paid. Defintely not recommended.
