I've had the best Szechuan food here at Wu Liang Ye. Dishes friends and I always order are: dumplings in chili oil (appetizer) Chinese okra whole fried fish razor clams Trust me, it's worth every penny (and it's not even an expensive restaurant).

I look forward to going to NYC two or three times a year primarily to eat at Wu Liang Ye! Their Dan Dan Noodles and Schezuan Crab is the absolute best! The beef and brocolli is so good that I can't stand to eat it from other Chinese Restaurants. The dinner service has always been the best (recommend making a reservation always) and the atmosphere is lovely.

food is better than most chinese places, portions are bigger than most chinese places, but the food is not good enough and portions are not big enough to make up for the fact that they are slow. Should not take 55 minutes for 1 dish and to walk literally a block and a half. I doubt i will order here again.

Have been going to this W 48th St location for many years. So far, always up to standard; fresh and delicious Chinese food beyond compare. I highly recommend Sweet and Pungent Crispy Fish fillets, Tangerine Prawns, Broccoli in Garlic Sause, Scallops in Garlic Sauce.

Great food but NOT a place to dine if you are big on customer service and basic manners! Rude staff...although not ALL of them. Do love the food.

Excellent food - the lunch specials are a particularly good value. Authentic flavors yet very accessible to the North Amercian palette. Service is "efficient" but not very "friendly". Gets very busy during lunch time - take out is a great option.

So my co workers and i order a nice chinese food lunch on christmas - WE NO SERVE LUNCH - so they charged us full price for lunch portions and then the delivery man was unhappy with us for giving him a $2 tip (he literally walked less than a block) - the food is good but the service is not.
