Woolworth Tower Kitchen
Posted by Meg on 01/22/2006
We stopped in for appetizers and drinks at this eatery in the landmark Woolworth Tower. The salmon pastrami & potato salad were wonderful, as were the dumplings and the shrimp tempura. The jerk chicken wings were very tasty. We also loved the corn dogs - served in a tiny bucket with sand...a nod to Coney Island... The bartender blended a couple of very elegant margaritas. Overall, a warm and relaxing atmosphere with delicious food. It was an enjoyable evening - very "New York," in an old-world sense.

My girlfriend and I recently ordered a selection of appetizers from this place just to check it out. We got the pastrami salmon, the fried pork dumplings, the corn dogs, and the crab sampler. The corn dogs were very greasy and could not be eaten, the salmon was also unappetizing and smelled and tasted overly fishy, the crab sampler had the same problem. The pork dumplings were tasty, but I believe those were probably not prepared fresh, but were frozen.

Relaxing atmosphere, the smaller bar looks cooler but needs the tv's on. Food was off the hook! ( loved those sea scallops wrapped in bacon! The service could have been better; overall, definitely worth it. Nice qiuck walk over the bridge to go home if you live in Brooklyn.
