    Overrated

Came here for restaurant week with a friend and we both ordered the sirloin steak with lobster tail. The lobster was cool and rubbery and the steaks (I ordered rare while she ordered medium rare) were dry and tough, leading me to believe our dish may have been precooked. I certainly hope not, but I was disappointed with both the quality of the food and the somewhat lacking service.

    Overpriced and Mediocre.

Went for a Sunday dinner, and was instantly surprised at the high prices; I thought that the Grill was a moderately priced alternative. Aside from the hash browns, nothing was near the level of quality one would expect at those prices. The steak for 2 was blah; cut was barely adequate, but not much more than that. Had the apple betty for dessert, and the skin was burned and the apples inside were bland. At the prices they charge, you could do a lot better in very close proximity.

Best Service and Roast Beef Hash!

I've always had phenomenal service, and if you don't order the roast beef hash when you go you're crazy. I

    Worst Service

Went there for an early dinner. We have been to many of the best steakhouses in the city and some of the worst and still had better food and service elsewhere. We never had one waiter, and could not get any service from any of the 4 that brought our food. Steaks were not done correctly my medium well was rare and my husbands medium was cooked to shoe leather. The host was abominable and started an argument with my husband when we requested service for coffee and dessert after sitting there for 25 minutes unable to get the attention of the waitstaff. This was uncalled for. Will never eat here again and plan to tell business associates whom I have had lunch with her previously to avoid the place. Plenty of other places to frequent in the neighborhood.

    got one word to say....

best bartender in town. guaranteed to make you feel welcome and special. the guy that manages the place, greets you at the door, and does his best to make the dining experience special. both guys are HUGE assets to the place. the food is steakhouse...the ambiance is steakhouse...the prices are steakhouse. that being said, i know what to expect when i come here, and i'm never disappointed.

Looking for the best burger in NYC?

Saturday night, 7:30pm...table for two w/a view of the sidewalk...very quiet...not crowded like the main bar and seating area If you want to find the best burger in NYC then you have to add this stop to your list. They're not cheap but they're good and cooked right. I've been here twice (weekend, weeknight) and the service was average or better both times.

    Very Not Bad

I've been here four or five times now and have rarely strayed from ordering the Colorado Rib-Eye (sometimes Cajun, sometimes not). It's the best. The lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing and tomatoes is superb and the green pea soup is phenomenal. True enough, the place is rowdy (or at least can get that way), but I find the lighting and service a lot less rigid than the main S&W dining rooms.. All-in-all - recommended!
