First time at Wolfgangs...done Lugers and Ben & Jacks and have enjoyed all meals...time to try another spin off.... Made a reservation the same day! Seated on time! Food was excellent and service great too! Biggest problem was noise. Accoustics are terrible...there for a friends birthday and we couldn't even talk. Seated by the door which we thought was a plus sound wise, can't imagine how loud it was in deep. I didn't go to the restroom, but husband said that ruined his experience...downstairs, had to climb over spare chairs. All in all, not a bad experience, but for price, there are nicer, quieter choices.

We waited 50 minutes despite having a reservation and one of our party was pregnant!!! The maitre d' didn't apologize and tried to stick our party of 4 in a table for 2 hidden in the back. The food was good but not worth the wait and major attitude of the front desk. There are tons of other great steakhouses in NYC-please give them your business instead, these jerks don't deserve or care for their patrons

My co-worker and I went to this steakhouse to reward our hard work in the past couple of months. There the surrounding was very loud but the ambience was nice overall. We ordered sirloin steak and rib-eye steak which were good and served in real big portion. But the service really let us down - We asked for a wine list but our waitstaff answered "We don't have a wine list, but we have all kinds of wine. What would you like?". We were puzzled but I said we were looking for Merlot and need a winelist and he replied "OK, I will get you Merlot." then walked away. We were not comfortable with what "Merlot" he is gonna bring us and didn't believe his answer either, so we turned to another waitstaff to ask for a winelist again and surprisingly this time we got one. Had we not requested for a winelist another time we would have been offered glasses of Merlot without even knowing the details of the wine. In addition, the waitstaff dropped out of our sight for most of the time of our meal. But given this sub par service and the waitstaff's attitude it didn't matter if he showed up or not. All in all, the steak was tempting but the service really kept me from going there again ...

I visit NY 7 or 8 times a year and visited Wolfgang's on 3 different occasions. Food was outstanding. Service was fair. Atmosphere was noisy beyond belief. On my last visit, they didn't honor our reservation, which had been made several weeks in advance of the visit. No one would even come over to ask our name; inspite of the fact that we were standing at the front desk. After standing like 2 jerks for 25 minutes, we left and when I returned home I wrote a letter to the owner since I thought he should be aware of the lack of courtesy shown by the host and the ladies working behind the front desk. Guess what? I never received a response. We crossed this restaurant off our list and called the concierge at the hotel we stay at when in NY never never never refer anyone to this restaurant.

Just returned from the Park avenue venue whick I visited on the evening of March 18th 2007,The chef in this establishment should take a bow, the food and his presentation were of the highest order and I congratulate him, however sadly he has been let down by the most arrogant and annoying waiters that I have ever came across in my travels,as a regular visitor to the NY area I would dearly love another steak from this establishment but to be honest I could not stomach the waiting staff!

ugh. they always make you wait for your reservation at least an extra 30 min and it's so loud and full of wanna be ibankers and "im a hedge fund guy" its just annoying. great place if you want to yell the F word across the room every 10 min. steak is excellent but it's more enjoyable when you eat it as a leftover than when you are sitting there.

I have been to Wolfgang's a year ago and thought it was amazing then. I am thrilled to say that my opinion has not changed. Mom decided to surprise me for my birthday last week and we decided to go to Wolfgang's. I love love steak, but my mom is not a steak lover. She has never been to Peter Lugar's and hence, had no idea what to expect. First of all, we had NO RESERVATION on a Saturday night, but the maitre d was exceptional and sat us immediately at a lovely table while both the restaurant and bar was packed to capacity. Our waiter was extremely friendly and made us feel like home. We ordered the steak for two WELL DONE along with the German Potatoes. Our steak arrived and all was perfect. For well done steak, it was delicious and so so juicy, not dry at all. And, the german potatoes are probably the best in the world. My mom who is NOT a steak eater did a good job assisting me with the steak and even picked on the bone!!! She also raved about the german potatoes and even wanted to order an extra side to go!!! Wolfgang's is truly TOP NOTCH all the way. No need to go over the bridge to Brooklyn when THE BEST is right here in the heart of NYC!!!
