Rushed
This new restaurant is very attractive. The food was very good but they didn't give us much time to eat. From the moment we sat down we were hurried into ordering, bearly finishing our appetizer & our dinner arrived. It was so rushed we did not finish our wine till after dinner. That's fast! After waiting weeks for a reservation & paying the high prices I should be able to eat at my pace.

Much improvement needed
I also waited forty five minutes on a confirmed reservation made two weeks ago and with my party on time...the food was good, but I've had better at other established Manhattan joints like Keens and Sparks.

Overpriced & mediocre
After waiting 45 minutes after our reservation to be seated (on a Monday evening) we found the food to be nothing special. We had the porterhouse for two which was fine but certainly not worth the price. Our asparagus and onion rings were okay but nothing to write home about. For the price, I expected to enjoy one of the best steaks of my life and was summarily disappointed.

Serious Porterhouse
Lugers-style steaks are not for everyone, but if you are craving that sizzling, dish tilted, butter-drenched goodness, then Wolfgang's undoubtedly delivers. Don't fill up on too many sides - the steak is the star attraction. Don't waste time on the other cuts, and forget about lobster - the porterhouse is the way to go. If you're a Lugers fan and worried that Wolfgang's can't measure up, I would say that it comes pretty damn close, so give it a shot.

Thank heaven
Been there twice now and feel the same way. The steaks are every bit as good as Luger. Terrific to have this type of steak house in Manhattan. The porterhouse prepared as it is is unlike anything at the traditional steak houses in NY other than its inspiration, Luger. It is simply different than all the others. I know it is loud but it's fun- the wait staff is better than what you have heard- the maitre'd is wonderful even amongst the chaos. The only flaw? The sides- good cottage fries though, mediocre french fries, cream spiniach better elsewhere, same with sauteed spinach and don't need the onions with the mushrooms. But the steak? Makes you want to be on atkins.

Best Steakhouse in Manhattan!
All of the other big name steakhouses have now been surpassed. The food, not just the steaks, is incredible. The atmosphere is wonderful. Service was the only weak spot. It's Wolfgang's now for a steakhouse outing - I wouldn't even consider any of the others!

Steak Lover's Paradise
Lived in NYC over 40 years; been to all the famous and not-so-famous steakhouses for business lunches and dinners innumerable times. Wolfgang's steak is absolutely among the best you will ever have in your life! For you seafood types, try the swordfish, you won't be diappointed! The service is not the best and the acoustics and tendency to draw large tables makes the place loud, but New Yawkers can deal wit dat!
