Not Recommended
The restaurant is very noisy. No candles; diner atmosphere, very hustle bustle. Confusing service, two waiters kept coming by plus other helpers. My husband ordered tomato and onion salad, it looked like a prep plate for the kitchen; very thick tomatoes and onions, no bed of lettuce just huge slices of tomatoes and onion. tenderloin tasty but presentation average, bread not fresh, ceasar salad average, portions generous, desserts average...

Lunch was outstanding
We had a fantastic filet steak and loin lamb chops for lunch. Loved the creamed spinach because it didnt have cream cheese / too much cream. You could taste the flavor of the spinach. The quality of our meat was outstanding. Lunch prices and portions are perfect for a person with a good appetite but not for supper size Americans who believe more is better. Service was great. wonderful experience.

Embarrassingly poor service
We had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation and waiter was non existent once we got a table. Fast food chains have better service and attention to customers. Take you business elsewhere. There are so many good steakhouses in New York, do not waste your time or money here.

go for the steak - not the service
Ok - we booked late, it was just two of us - but maybe they shouldn't have taken the booking because sitting in the walkway just didn't give the place any atmosphere at all. The food was great - but at that money i would expect it to be. The service was so rushed and we felt like we were constantly being pushed out the door. there are plenty of great steak places in NY to warrant us not going back.

mediocre
I have eaten in every steak house in NYC and elsewhere, including Calgary, Alberta, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert on steak. In short, the noise level here, combined with the 6' high ceiling, is overwhelming, you can't hear the person next to you speak. The expense account idiots and uber testosterone, combined with the above, makes it worse. Food--The rolls, stale. The tomato and onion, very good (whats to ruin). The sirloin steak I ordered RARE, comes out (with a bone), on a super hot sizzling plate, like you get when you order steak for 2,3..., and keeps cooking on the plate. I don't need sizzle, I need steak. Speaking of the steak, the bone weighs about 1/3 of the portion, I have NEVER had a sirloin steak in NY served with a bone. Steak wasn't charred on the outside, but was rare. VERY salty. Creamed spinach, no cream, no flavor, no nothing, just some gooey spinach. In all, I can eat steak anywhere, just had to try the place. You want a good steak in a good atmosphere, there are plenty of other places in town. JMHO.
