Wolfgang's Steakhouse

The food was adequate if pricey, but the service was outrageous. I ordered a glass of wine and ordered a second different wine. When the waiter returned with the second glass, he just poured the old into the new. When I responded, his reaction was, "It all goes to the same place" And he kept arguing that what he did was fine. Never again.

took my daughter and friend here for a birthday dinner,,we shared the porterhouse for 3...biggest, baddest, best steak I have ever had,,and i am from nyc ,,tried them all and wolfgangs is just great,,,,waiters always helpful and friendly,,,,i love this place...ps could have had the steak for 2...was that big..throw in cottage fries and ceaser salad,,,awesome

I've been to most of the highest rated steakhouses in NYC (and around the world) and this in one of, if not the best. The steak (porterhouse-a must) is incredibly tender and flavorful, awesome dirty Kettle One with blue cheese olives- All around a class ask. On a given night, you may even catch the owner there making sure everything is perfect (we did). Go here, get porterhouse and you won't be disappointed!

Terrific food BUT absolutely the noisiest restaurant I have ever been in with the poorest service I have ever experienced. This is the first time I have ever left $0.00 tip. There was NOTHING we asked for (including our entrees) that we did not have to ask for three times. The waiter(s) kept on banging the back of one guest's chair knocking grasped knife and other silverware across the table with never uttering an apology. The two maitre d's could care less or be less accommodating. The best responses they could utter to any complaint or request were: "If you think this is noisy you should try our Park Avenue restaurant" or "what do you expect, this is New York?" or "Thank you." I'm a New Yorker who appreciates good food. The food in our $425.78 bill for four would have been almost worth it were it not for the noise level and the completely horrid wait staff. Wolfgang’s makes BLT Steak, well known for its high noise level, sound like a morgue. This restaurant should offer a discount for service or close shop!

If u want a good meal, this is the place. However this place is not for romantic quite type but I love it a lot. I go there at less one a month. This is for for new Yorkers. Love it this place.

from the moment i sat down i wanted to leave. When i mentioned it to a friend that i had eaten there before i could say another word he said "noisy right'. And he was talking about the Greenwich street location not the 54th street restaurant. It was almost impossible to hear my fellow diner who was sitting right next to me.When the waiters constantly bump into the back of your chair without one apology it is hard to find anything good about a restaurant and i didn't. I shall not return. Plenty of steak restaurants in New York.

I went to Wolfgang's last night with a good friend and a co-worker. Let me start off by saying I've never felt so disrespected by a waiter in my life. That along with the three steaks being cooked incorrectly made for a terrible dining experience. Right from the start the waiter gave us an attitude (it was as soon as we ordered a $60 bottle of wine, not a $250 bottle). As soon as the appetizers came out the waiter tried to get us out of there as quickly as he could. He would come back every 3 minutes asking if we were done when we weren't. After having the appetizers in front of us for a few minutes he came to clear everything away. He even took the crab meat app away before it was finished. Also, we were yet to finish our salad when the waiter came back and started clearing our dishes. At this point he knew we were annoyed but that didn't seem to bother him. He cleared all our plates at which point we said we weren't finished yet. He apologized and left the salad. I asked him how we were supposed to eat the rest of the salad without silverware or plates at which point he brought us each another fork. Soon after this debacle the steaks came out. My friend asked for his filet rare (when he ordered it the waiter suggested getting it medium rare because "our medium rare is other steakhouses rare"). Needless to say the steak came out medium to medium-well. I ordered a rare ribeye and got a medium ribeye. My co-worker ordered a medium-rare ribeye only to get a medium to medium well ribeye. For a place that prides itself on a great dining experience, this restaurant has a lot of work to do.disappointing experience.
