I stopped by with my son for lunch today and was very pleased with the food and service. The portions were large and the food was delicious. I highly recommend Wolfgang's for lunch. Although seating without a reservation was immediate, it was a good crowd and the next time I will make a reservation.

I frequent steakhouses such as Peter Lugers,Strip House and Wolfgangs amoung others...And I must say that the last 2 times I have been to Wolfgangs the Porterhouse has been very low quality. I looked down at the cut and wasnt sure if I should eat it or perform TOMMY JOHN surgery on it. Very tough...had to cut a large percentage of each piece off do to the fact it tasted like ligaments. Whoever is choosing the cuts of meat is doing a terrible job. I am giving Wolfgangs 1 more chance...if it happens again...i will never go again. Wolfgangs might have slipped. Buyer beware.

I too am surprised at some of the negative reviews given to this place. I ate here with 5 family members last week and found the food and service to be as good as the last four times I ate here this year.

I am sorry to say this didn't even come close to the original steakhouse Wolfgang worked at. The bar was nice with great drinks and the best potato chips however as far as the food for someone who took the concept and who worked there that long he must never have gone in the kitchen. The steak was a tough with not that much flavor and the fish was just poor. The waiter never even bothered to take my order and never came back to the table after we were served. The onion rings were great but other then that it is not worth the huge price tag.

Without a doubt it is the best Steak in New York City.

There is a good reason to call this place the Cartier of steakhouses: it's all about the name. If you are a status freak, Wolfgang's is your place. If, on the other hand, you like to cultivate your culinary senses, much better food can be found all over the city. The steak, while cooked properly, did little in the way of tittilating the taste buds, and there was nothing extraordinary about the sides except the prices.

I don't understand the fascination with these steakhouses? You pay a ton of $ for a mediocre steak. I have made much better steak at home! I went here last weekend with a group for a party. The seafood appetizers were big and bland. The steak was simple. Just cooked meat. Nothing about it stood out at all...just a plate of grilled meat. The service was fine and the atmosphere is nice but all in all unimpressive. Too much money for run of the mill food. There are so many fantastic restaurants in this city to waste your time at a place like this.
