Amazing food! wo hop (down)
Excellent food, decent service, and food is served fast, but cooked thoroughly. My parents have been going there for 20 years and they love it! Go to wo-hop (down), not up

ive been going there since 1973.. always great and worth waiting on line for, first time i went ,we went to the twin towers being built and our friends father took us to wo hop.

love it
I don't live in N.Y, but I make sure to eat here whenever I am in the area, which unfortunately isn't often. The food is great, especially the crab with black bean sauce. I have never had a bad dish.The service could be better, but I go there for the food.

They are famous for a reason...
If you like good food at a cheap price this is your place. No ambiance, no frills, just great food. The place has been open since 1938, and most of the waiters have been there for 30 years. My family has been going here for 40 years. The dumplings are to die for and I have never had a bad dish. And forget the menu, if you want something, they will make it for you. Best bang for your buck in NYC!

OK food, poor service !
The food is OK.. I am not sure how authentic but pretty tasty. However, the service is horrible. The waiters are rude and and unattentive. Check was hand written in chinese and "surprisingly" the sum of the prices for individual items did not add up. I've noticed that someone at another table brought the "wrong math" to their attention ... they grabbed the check and corrected it without even saying "sorry". I think it is a common practice... Cash only place... go figure !

Really Good
Great food, super cheap. Best dumplings i've ever had. they're deep fried instead of pan fried, so good.

Great for those on budget
When you're low on money and want good food this is the place to go. I'll admit its not authentic chinese food but its still pretty good.
