Rude and obnoxious 'owner' and waiters

On a positive note the food and wine was great. The service was herrendous, our friends waited on the street for 45 min for an extra chairs, we asked three people for a chair never got one. Then a table opened up and our friends sat down and they made them get up so another couple could use it. Then proceeded to ad a 20% gratuity to us when only three of us ate dinner 2 came for ten minutes and had drinks. The "owner" proceeded to engage us in an argument for 10 minutes saying that we should have asked for two checks and refused to re-do our bill, I've never had such horrible service ever. Beware of the crappy waiters and rude behavior

WineBar , more than a bar

I live on the upper west side but I discovered this cute bar while going to the New York theater workshop around the corner , this is my third visit to this cozy bar in the last two months, always to my expectations, great wines, excellent food and great service, in every visit, wine list is always expanding, i had great plesasure to try many new wines added to the list which the waiter was helpful in explaining them, Flatbreads are amazing, cooked in the wood burning oven, try the Formaggio with roasted tomatoes, dining room is very warm and cozy, I love the wine library, "wish I have it in my house" best of all, the owner told me they're opening one at the upper west side, can't wait.

great food, great wine, horrible service

The selection of wine is great, the food is well prepared and very tasty. The atmosphere is nice,-- its cozy, maybe even a little romantic. All in all, good wine, good food, poor service-- if you're looking for a wine bar where the people who own the place have invested in good knowledgeable waitstaff-- this is not the right place. If you are looking for a place to grab an expensive glass of wine, some tapas and chat-- this is a safe bet, but then again there are plenty of places in NYC for that.

    Delightfully relaxed and fun

Braised lamb shank. that's all you need to know! The food's delicious, there's a great selection of wine and the staff is friendly, flirty, and all very knowledgeable. Go with a friend, start with the cheese plate, move on to the fig and proscuitto pizza, then finish with the lamb for a gastronomically good time. Enjoy the $20 flights of wine while they last -- i think they're trying to fade them out. (silly, silly winebar!) All in all, a great neighborhood spot to hang out with your friends and drink away your troubles with a lovely glass of mythique.

    Great ambiance and food

I live around the corner and have tried going here a few times, but it is always crowded from 9-12. I got a seat on Friday night and had a suprisingly delicious meal. The place is very cozy with the wood oven and was full with a great, laid back crowd. I think they should have more higher end wines, but the waiter told me that they are expanding the list. I'll definitely try it again.
