    Wildwoodn't

I don't get the whole fancy BBQ thing. Who offers sparkling water at a rib joint?? We went to this new BBQ spot at 8pm on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was okay but very loud and crowded - felt like Senor Frogs. Good decor. We ordered a pitcher of Cold Ass Beer and cornbread to start (very dry and they only brought out 3 butters for 4 people). We were very excited to try the briskit... had heard good things... but they were out of it! At 8pm! The 1st week! Then we ordered a different pitcher of some beer from Maine - out of that too. For our entrees we all shared the spare ribs (decent), the BBQ chicken (nothing special - very moist though, which was good), the pulled pork (good and juicy) and the baby back ribs (so weird... they're not cut into actual ribs... just a hunk of meat on the bone. don't get this as your main entree... definintely share it. it was mildly tasty but very fatty). For sides we had mac and cheese (no taste) and sweet potato fries (yummy but way over-salted). My biggest complaint was with the service. Our server was nice but obviously didn't know anything about the menu or how to pour a beer. She poured directly into the bottom of the glasses, creating an impressive amount of foam. Unacceptable. Also, no one came to apologize when they were out of 2 things we ordered. Overall... noisy, non-exciting food, poor service, and just not worth it. Wouldn't go back even if someone else paid.

    Needs Work But Just Opened

Lamb ribs get a B+ and were the star. Babybacks B. Spareribs B-. Classic BBQ sauce C-. Raspberry Chipolte sauce D. Beans B. Mac n cheese D. Sauces were real let down. Runny and not good. Being loose/runny, I expected at least a little vinegar zing to explain the style but no luck. Mac n cheese was unacceptably bland. The breadcrumb crust was only favor. I will go back to get lamb and beans and try other items. Hopefully, like Blue Smoke, they will eventually get a good sauce and fix some other lacking items or remove them from the menu.
