So after reading many negative reviews, I thought that it always looks packed and smells good and can't be that bad. Well, I went for my birthday dinner. It was fabulous! Super delicious drinks, apps, and food. I had the Best of the Best- huge portion, tender, flavorful meat, sides were ok. Waitress was very attentive. This is the only all natural bbq place in nyc- no hormones or antibiotics. Super fresh meat. Will go there again many times. Only weird thing was they kept switching music from country to pop- a little jarring, but still a great restaurant.

Having lived in NYC for 8 years and raised in Texas I have to say Wildwood does not meet the mark for a tasty BBQ experience. I would say for their suggestion box "go to hill country and steal recipes from someone that knows what they are doing". Avoid mac and cheese at all costs.

had the shrimp jalepeno bacon appetizer and brisket for my meal. both were tasty. HOWEVER, worst mac and cheese and creamed spinach ever. stick to meats and you're good to go.

I do not see why anyone gave this place anything but a perfect review. The food is not bland at all, and they have different choices of their own bbq sauces to try. This is more of the dry rub type of bbq then the typical sloppy bbq. I have tried pretty much every bbq place in the city, and this one beats them all. Way better than dinosaur and virgils. As far as value goes, whoever complained about value must not be from nyc. The three little pigs entree is a great deal, you get spare ribs, pulled pork & jalapeno or texas style sausage, plus 2 sides, for $21.95. how is that not a good value? I highly reccomend this place, if you like your BBQ!

I'm originally from the South--Alabama-- home to all sorts of varieties of great bar-b-que. Wildwood BBQ, unfortunately, just doesn't qualify. The quality of the ingredients are not too bad. However, as far as flavor goes, the meat lacks the necessary 'kick' that sends one home happy. It seemed less a bar-b-que joint and more a gourmet cafeteria with bar-b-que food. I left disappointed. I've lived in NYC several years and have tasted great bar-b-que in the city--mostly run by Southern transplants. Wildwood, however, does not pass for bar-b-que by my standards.

party of 2 on a tuesday night. not too crowded. servers were very attentive and friendly. the grilled half chicken was very juicy and not dry like i had feared. beer selection was pretty nice too, in terms of variety and quality. the restaurant atmosphere felt spacious and clean, although 'roadhouse' style. also, free refills on sweet tea was great!

The food was great, but I would rather spend *much* less for the same food at another BBQ place. It's fun to go there once in a while - the atmosphere is really fun.
