    Fun fun place

went with our twenty something son and his crew for a birthday dinner... the ribs (dry rub) were awesome. atmosphere fun and friendly. service a bit disorganized (brought entrees with appetizers??!) but overall everything was good and delicious...

Excellent customer service, fun BBQ spot

Went to Wildwood for the first time for a birthday dinner. The table wasn't ready at our reservation time but the management, host and waiter more than made up for it with comped drinks, apps and a huge dessert sampling for the birthday boy. The atmosphere is fun and casual and the food was tasty. The portions are very large. I'd go back, especially since they clearly care about customers.

    Delivery

It took over two hours for my order to arrive. I called after 75 min and was told they were busy but that it had left. I called after 1:45 and was told the delivery guy left 45 min ago and they can't reach him on cell. I was then told by a Wildwood manager that whether or not it actually came they would not be charging me. I was specifically told she would take care of it with Seamless Web. To date, the charge has not been reversed. Obviously when it came after 2hrs, it was cold and gross. I wouldn't have bothered leaving review as I do like the food in the restaurant, but it annoys me to no end that she told me i wouldn't be charged and now i have to waste my time dealing with this. Also, delivery guy said he was only out 20 min and that it was taking long time because he didn't have a bike. If you can't handle delivery business that's fine, don't deliver. No excuse for having delivery business and taking 2 hrs to send a soggy mess.

amazing food, slightly overpriced & overrun

Starting with the basics- absolutely delicious mac & cheese (one of the best in the city), amazing creamed spin. & the sweetest corn I have EVER tasted. The potato skins are also incredible.... having said this, the portions are sort of small and pretty pricey too.... the only complaint I really have is that the place is too busy without enough staff and our waitress got our order slightly wrong and acted annoyed when we wanted it taken off the bill (she never showed up during the meal to take this extra food away).... and it wasn't eaten.... anyhow- mixed experience but, the place is fun, loud but, fun.... if you can excuse these minor issues....the food is super.... and that is the most important piece of the pie for me (no pun ;0)

    awesome bbq

So after reading many negative reviews, I thought that it always looks packed and smells good and can't be that bad. Well, I went for my birthday dinner. It was fabulous! Super delicious drinks, apps, and food. I had the Best of the Best- huge portion, tender, flavorful meat, sides were ok. Waitress was very attentive. This is the only all natural bbq place in nyc- no hormones or antibiotics. Super fresh meat. Will go there again many times. Only weird thing was they kept switching music from country to pop- a little jarring, but still a great restaurant.

    Blah BBQ

Having lived in NYC for 8 years and raised in Texas I have to say Wildwood does not meet the mark for a tasty BBQ experience. I would say for their suggestion box "go to hill country and steal recipes from someone that knows what they are doing". Avoid mac and cheese at all costs.

    decent meat and that's it

had the shrimp jalepeno bacon appetizer and brisket for my meal. both were tasty. HOWEVER, worst mac and cheese and creamed spinach ever. stick to meats and you're good to go.
