vegan/vegetarian AND gluten free friendly!
I have Celiac disease and have been a vegetarian for over 10 years. It's hard for me to eat out but NYC has many more options than virtually everywhere else. Wild Ginger is very delicious. They have fresh, simple, whole food ingredients that I crave every time I return to NY. I love their pumpkin white bean soup and the pineapple fried rice!! The spring rolls are very refreshing on a hot day. I love their fresh iced beverages as well...especially their real ginger ale. It is not very sweet like a soda and has lots of zip! Very. good for digestion.

Not impressed
The food and drinks were fine. We had a really poor experience around paying the bill though. We were paying with a mixture of cash and credit cards, and after we had done the cards we were discussing between us how much cash to leave to include the tip, and the waiter came over and started berating us saying tips were expected at a minimum of 15% and that 'most New Yorkers tip 20%' and being really pushy. We hadn't even finished adding up who owed what yet and it soured the whole experience as it seemed that he assumed we were going to leave nothing!

Vegan love
I have been to Wild Ginger at its various locations and recently moved to Chinatown. I forget that Wild Ginger is so close, but today was doing errands and stopped in for lunch. Not sure what others have experienced in terms of service, but the waiter who was working was very cheerful and present. I've always found the food to be very good. My favorite entree is the malaysian vegetable curry and I'm a fan of their steamed pumpkin. As a longtime vegetarian it's almost challenging to go to a place that has so many great options.

Poor service
We made a reservation for a party of about 15 people. The waitress was telling us that we had to leave in 1.5 hrs when we all finally got seated. The food isn't that amazing, either, for what it's worth. But the pineapple fried rice is good.

I love meat
I really love meat but Wild Ginger manages to satisfy me every single time. Their appetizers are all delicious, so my recommendation would be to go heavy on them and share an entree.

Better than Zens
Loved the food. Same type of dishes as other vegetarian places, just done way better!

Wild Ginger was wonderful
Had a wonderful time. Everything was delicious, moderate prices, attentive service. Plenty of vegan food. Been there for lunch 6 months ago and recently for dinner. Definitely will return and recommend.
