overall good experience
Whym has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, pleasant service, and very nicely prepared food. My friend and I had the crab ravioli and a side pasta dish which were both very tasty followed by some good salads and a delicious warm chocolate cake (hard to mess up!). Overall, the service was quick and very friendly. The place was quiet and nicely decorated. I would return!

Great lunch!
Just tried Whym for lunch and had a great experience. Food was amazing! Great chicken panini and fries. Fun drink variety. Seating was prompt and service was good too. Tried them for delivery today and was also happy.

disappointing
Fancy/fun-to-read menu which unfortunately is at the "whyms" of a totally useless chef. Here is my list of reasons why I won't go again: bad/ignorant cooking (long wait, poor meat quality, broccoli rabe with the taste of pure garlic, medium-rare ordered burger arrives as rare, ordered sides/extras where forgotten, sesame noodles are being served cold without mention in the menu, the fennel/olive appetizer tastes like any generic fritter, overpriced drinks, beer prices are not even listed in the drink menu). The room looks nice but wait until you get seated. Their interior designer seems to be a close relative of the chef: promising but failing to deliver. In short: disappointing.

High Prices, So-So Food
As a fan of sister restaurant the Eatery, I've gone to Whym a few times and all I can say is that the food is hit or miss. When I went there for brunch the other day, I had a tasty (but very skimpy) pulled pork sandwich. My friend had the smoked salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries - and her food was great too. But, I've gone there for dinner twice and have been really disappointed. The duck breast was puny (more like a half-breast) and lukewarm, and was not complemented by the mound of bland risotto that came with it. For $24, I thought it was a rip-off. The second time, I ordered the tuna. Again, it was lukewarm and portioned as if it were an appetizer. And, it was overcooked, a huge no-no for tuna. I will give the brunch waitstaff an enormous thank you - they've been consistently excellent. But, overall, there are many restaurants in Hell's Kitchen that offer better food at better prices. Whym, keep trying.

A Fun Treat
I liked this little spot a lot. The atmosphere was super cute. I ordered the burger and fries and I must say, it was pretty damn good. The mojito--kinda strange but tasty. I only had like 2 mint leaves in it! My server was attentive and speedy, which I liked. I went on a hot Thursday night and it was crowded but I didn't wait. I guess I just missed the rush. Would definitely go back!

Most have the ziti side dish ToDey.
Deliciously oddly continental world trends. Upper Class service for middle class prices. A very odd mojito-tini but all the other many cocktails drinks seem to do the trick for most. I like the house special yellow colored virgin fruit punch. Get your own shrimp appetizer it so hard to share nicely. You may not think every dish deserves a blue ribbon but then again your not paying an arm and a leg... well you might if you go crazy trying dishes. Its not the best restaurant in New York but its surely on the top few... plus theres usually not a crowd of people to fight off to get in. You get a great value overall in a relaxed pretty atmosphere, delivery is great too. If you're ever low on cash and want to eat gourmet just get the side of pasta for about 5 dollars you still might be hungry but its worth it.

Good food
I like the atmosphere and the staff here. Food is really tasty and creative -- in a good way, but portions are definitely on the small side (even for a woman; guys will definitely leave hungry). It's fun to eat there once, but the value is not such that I will return there.
