    Perfect Salmon!

Was at Whym for dinner for the first time last night before an event. There is nothing about this restaurant that I could criticize. The ambiance and decor was very nice, modern and trendy without being cold. Loved the glass wall so we could people-watch! It's smallish, but spacious with plenty of room between tables. The staff was courteous, attentive without hovering. We had the flatbread appetizer with pesto and goat cheese and had to stop ourselves from licking the plate. My daughter and I each had the grilled salmon with meso and ginger, and lemongrass rice. OMG! The piece of salmon was quite large and moist, not dry, and the sauce complemented it well. I nearly cried over the dessert - apple spring rolls with vanilla ice cream. The roll was fresh and crispy and warm. Yum! The prices were not outrageous - typical city prices. We will absolutely be back! We live on Long Island and go to the city often and like to try different restaurants, but Whym is a definite repeat. I highly recommend it!

    down hill, its a pity

we used to love whym, came every sunday night to get ready for the week ahead. disappointed with the lack of service, greeting, and mediocre food. It used to be a star on 9th, lnow the lights are dimming.

    Mediocre and pricey

Warm pre-made warmed sweet potatoes fries accompanied our chicken avocado sandwich which had little chicken and one small piece of avocado $10 is ok for a good sandwich ...not for this

    Biscuits are to die for!

I've only ever ordered delivery from here, but the food is always amazing. They had to shut down delivery for 2 hours today because of the brunch rush, so I'm sure many people agree, and waiting 2 hours was totally worth it

    Just eat and leave

The food came 5 minutes after we ordered it! Sangria was without fruits in it! After we eat we were nicely asked to leave the place because the policy doesn't alow its guessts staying at the table after the meal is gone and the bill is paid.

    An Amazing Experience

I usually would never go out of my way to write a review for a restaurant; but after going to Whym, I had to share my experience with those looking for an excellent balance between delicious food, stunning ambience, excellent customer service, and decent prices. First off, our server for the evening was this chap named Jimmy. Jimmy welcomes you and guides you through the dinner quite brilliantly in his own way e.g. striking up small conversations from time to time, casually offering his own take on menu items, and giving the customer space while maintaining a connection with said customer. As for the food, I started with the calamari appetizer which featured crisp, fried calamari served with a sweet chili sauce. I then moved on to the sirloin burger with a side of their fabulous mac and cheese. I barely had enough room to fit it all, but the wonderful textures, aromas, and richness pushed me to forge on. I have to say I was extremely pleased by this dinner, and it only came to around $30 with a few modifications. I will certainly be eating here more often. And thanks to Jimmy et co, it will hold a special place in my heart.
