I eat out often, and I've eaten at many of the best restaurants that New York City has to offer for the last 25 years. What I expect when I'm at a diner is cleanliness, speed, good friendly service and the ability to create my meal just as I like it; Westway gives you all that and much much more. I can't think of any other place in all of New York where you can order up just about anything you want 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Over the years, I've gotten to know the owners and the waiters and they are great people too. Now, when I am at a four (4) star French restaurant for example, I expect the chef to reveal his/her culinary excellence to me. I sit back and let the meal happen to me. Now, how do you know you are at an amazing restaurant? One Rule: There is never, ever, ever, a salt or pepper shaker on the table. If you haven't had that kind of experience please seek it out for yourselves - amazing!! All other dining situations from diner to popular Italian cuisine must be experienced in there context. Diner's have cooks, not chefs. So, to all you nay-sayers, if you want a four star experience at a diner, I'm afraid you just don't get what a great diner is all about. Lets rehash this! Note: a diner is cleanliness, speed, good friendly service and the ability to create your own meal just as you like it; Westway gives you all that and much much more 24 hours a day 365 days a years - snow storms and all. Go enjoy yourselves, and say hi one of the hardest working staffs you'll ever meet!

We were visiting NY and thankfully a friend that lives in the same neighborhood as the Westway, recommended we meet for breakfast there. Great food, Great prices, and the wait staff was very prompt. It was a popular place to be - with a short wait for tables Saturday morning. We liked it so much we went back again for breakfast on Sunday. Good coffee too. Highly recommend :)

Very rude staff! I was at the dinner with my nephews and sister who were visiting from out of town and we waited more than 30 mins and the waiters were behind us! They never took our order ignoring us... I live around the area and this had never happened to me...we walked away to a better place

We were in NYC last week and went to this diner 3 times (1 x breakfast - lunch + dinner). We loved it !! If the locals can eat it so can the tourists. Thank you very much

Could not understand the rude guy on the phone taking the order, Food took forever and was mediocre.

I just got the meatloaf delivered. Huge slabs, and the mushroom gravy has big pieces of mushrooms with a slight grilled flavor. Mash is on, corn, and salad and soup I may not even get to. Solid diner food, delivered at midnight.
