    great diner

I moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and love the Westside diner. The food is always very fresh and tastes great, and the service is efficient and fast. Most importantly, you get great bang for your buck here!

    Are you Kidding?

This place is only good from 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. - wasted. . . Chuck D ordered from here 2-3 times and each time it was not good.. .the guy on the phone can't speak English so take out it too hard.. .soggy fries, no straw for the milkshake. . .I wish they'd put a Starbucks here already. . .

    Great all-around

Very good food, a large menu from which to choose, fast and friendly service and dirt cheap. what's not to love? My partner and I eat here 2-3 times a week and have never had a bad meal. A real, terrific diner. You'll love it.

    Nice little diner

My wife and I stopped here early before heading over to Regis on a Tuesday. We were seated quickly and the food arrived quick. The corned beef hash and eggs were great, as was the blueberry pancakes (loaded with blueberries) and the bagel with cream cheese and lox (yum!!). This is definitely a place for regulars. The owner seemed to know most of the people. It was an older crowd other than a few annoying Aussies talking loudly about all the celebrities the were working with. It got busy while we were there, and our check never came. The owner told the waitress to bring it, but she just kept working on orders. We finally just got up, dropped enough at the front to cover the check, and left. Overall, a nice place (if you're not in a hurry).

    Marginal

Went to discover the UWS on a Sunday morning and came across this place. Had heard great things about it, but wasn't too impressed. Food was delicious, but there was nothing special about the service or atmosphere. Waiter was blunt and rude and added on "lunch" prices to our "breakfast" food. We straightened out the bill, which led to even more rudeness from the waiter.

    Gone Downhill

This place has really gone down hill. They once offered a fairly decent breakfast, omlettes with fresh vegetables, a variety of cheeses and good home fries, delivered quickly. Now they're using canned mushrooms and bland cheese with homefries that have completely lost their lustre. I won't be eating here again.

    a real diner

I live only 2 blocks away which, coupled with the breakfast specials, is why my boyfriend and I make the Westside Restaurant the first part of our Saturday morning ritual. The food is good old-fashioned diner food, which can be hard to find among the myriad places touting the spectacle that is the "upper west side brunch." Which makes it a welcome respite for us. Also, if you arrive before 10am the prices are beyond reasonable: endless coffee, 2 omelettes with toast & potatoes all for under $20. Works for me.
