The fastfood of steaks
Great atmosphere with dim lighting, candles, and not crowded, which is great for conversation. Mature adult crowd. The food is mediocre. Salmon plain with seasoning and "greens" consisted of withered bok choy. Decent burgers and steak. The waitress rushed us out of the restaurant without so much as a smile throughout the entire service. Fast food of steakhouses.

One of the Best Steakhouse I've been to!
Every meal that I've had at this restaurant has been delicious! My all time favorite is their steak, I've had them all. Always cooked to perfection! The owner and his beautiful wife are marvelous hosts. The service is top of the line. The atmosphere is very warm, relaxing and quiet. I've gone there in the evening for a romantic meal for 2 and in the late afternoon for a business lunch for 4. It's a very versatile environment!

Wonderful place!
We were looking for a reasonable placed to get a good steak on our last night in NYC. I am glad we found this place. Not very crowded but we were there at 630 on Sunday evening. We liked being able to have a conversation without yelling. We ordered the mussels and chopped liver as apps and both were excellent. The filet and strip were fabulous and cooked exactly the way we ordered. The salmon was good although maybe a little small portioned. Sides of asparagus, spinach, mushrooms and garlic mashed were good. Dessert was fabulous; had cheesecake and hot apple pie ala mode. Would definitely recommend anyone to eat here just do not expect high class steakhouse atmosphere.

Good Steak. That's it.
A dreary-looking, dreary-feeling place. The steak (Porterhouse for two) was terrific. That's the beginning and end of the positive, and it's no small deal, a good price for an excellent steak. The calamari was greasy, the bacon-wrapped scallops were soggy, the fries were both greasy AND soggy. There was no front-of-house person the night we were there. One of the two waitresses was doing double-duty at that job. When she wasn't doing that she was seated at the table behind our working on her laptop, a fairly distracting and unprofessional thing to do. Look. I don't mean to be snarky about this, but it was still fairly expensive for a pretty second-rate experience.

Excellent Value!
Del Frisco / Smith & Wollensky quality steaks for a fraction of a price! Great steaks at a great price! What could be better? Now you don't have to think so much before you take a date for a steak and think about dropping a couple of hundos because you can get the same quality for I think half the price. I am talking about entire check..i.e.+ bottle wine, deserts, sides, tip etc. which totally adds up). Place is owner operated and looks like he runs a lean machine without all the extra people you see walking around in a big steakhouse which I think requires the padded prices. Plus they're very friendly and attentive. Simply Awesome! I'm glad I stumbled on this place near where I live cuz now I can have a great steak plus side for some $35 bucks! Weekday steak dinner by yourself makes sense! Enjoy

Love this place!
Outstanding small steakhouse. Friendly & attentive wait staff & owner. Great food, well prepared and presented. All for about half the price of the better known restaurants. Only negative was that the scotch and wine selections could be improved. But none of our party of six left hungry, thirsty or broke, either... The Westside Steakhouse will always be on my "Must Visit" list whenever spending time in Midtown Manhattan.

Great restaurant
Our last night in New York and we wanted to experience a good steakhouse. We walked past the West Side in the afternoon and made a reservation for that evening. We were not disappointed, the food, ambience and service was excellent. We had a warm welcome by the owner and we were looked after by his wife who was very knowledgeable on the excellent wines available. Don't miss this little gem of a restaurant if you are in the Hells Kitchen area.
