The Waverly has great atmosphere. You go there for people watching and to be seen, not for the food! It is too expensive for what you get: neigbourhood pub quality food.

I was in NY from Italy for 2 years with my dad and always had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Waverly , that is the best restaurant in the world, people very friendly, excellent food and atmosphere. Hope to come back soon. Barbara from Italy

This West Village standard has offers some new takes on old standards. While the eggs and burgers are just what you would expect from a neighborhood diner, the Roast Young Vermont Turkey is deli sliced turkey breast stuffed with ground meat and rice, just like a stuffed cabbage. This was not what I expected or wanted, but if you are looking for a twist, Waverly will surely delight.

Ive been working in the area for the past 2 yrs and frequent the diner a couple times a week for lunch, the wait staff is very friendly, the food is great (especially the salisbury steak w/ mushrooms) and it's a good place to spot moviestars Ive heard though I havent seen anyone other than the photos hanging around the perimeter walls, but Im sure they must eat there as well.

This diner is run quickly, efficiently, and the taste of the food isn't sacrificed because of it. Everything on this menu is tasty (I've probably had 70% of it)... from the desserts in the case, to the massive, suitably priced salads... it's priced well and done right. The crowd at the Waverly Diner varies every time I'm there, but it's mostly NYU students, artists, elderly people... I even saw a celebrity there once. Mainly, people who know when they're getting a good deal. I can't recommend this place enough.

It's simply the best diner in new york. It's me and my boyfriend's neighborhood go-to place. Food is good, the menu is pretty extensive for a diner, it's not expensive, service is prompt, and the staff is great. Also a sweet, homey atmosphere.

One of my favorite diners in the city. It has a great extensive menu like most diners, but unlike most diners I've been to, I have yet to order something that didn't come out tasting great. Nice place to have brunch. The Belgian waffle is delicious (although not the very best I've ever had, that honor belongs to another diner), crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It's been around for a while so it has a very comfortable old-fashioned feel and look to it. The staff is friendly and will not rush you out even when the place is packed. Should definitely stop by if you are in the neighborhood or if you're craving diner food.
