Bad Greek Diner
After they remodeled this place expected some quality...I was wrong. The chicken salad was tasteless, the pastrami was dry and old. Both sandwiches were very thin. Pickles tasted "fishery". There was NO coleslaw. Delivery guy was fast & polite, but I will never order again

Most Overpriced Diner in NYC
This is the most overpriced diner I have ever seen in my entire life. I'm not some tourist -- I have lived in the WV my entire life. I hadn't been here in a while and didn't realize how much the prices had gone up while the quality declined. I just paid $21 for an egg white omelette and cottage cheese.

Service Issues
Have come her for many years and the service (especially late night) has gotten worse and worse. At my last late night meal, I was actually chastised by the waiter for ordering a sandwich after my soup,,, This when I was one of 2 tables in the place! Huge attitude, mediocre food at best and terrible service. Make this a miss - Frank Mills should have. This place deserves no notoriety.

Good eating
I have been going to this restaurant since it was Twin Brothers back in the 60s. The service is excellent and the food is good. It is always open and that is a real plus these days.

Fast but Expensive
I normally order take out from Waverly, as, most of the time, the Diner itself is too cramped and crowded for my taste. They are lightening fast with the deliveries, the food is always good....but it is the most expensive Diner I have ever eaten in/from.

Best diner in the area.
Waverly is my go-to guy for both in-store and delivery when I want diner food. Their food is among the best diner food around and their prices are fair. They've been delivering to me for several years and never gotten an order wrong. No one will ever confuse it with the Waverly Inn of course, but for what it is it's among the best.

cozy and classic Village luncheonette
A diner is a freestanding structure; technically this is a luncheonette, and one of the best of a dying breed - like the NYC deli, most luncheonettes been replaced with trendy haute cuisine restaurants. Not so for the Wave, which still serves up all the classic diner fare. Tasty eggs and pancakes, daily specials (Greek and Italian dishes are delicious), and fresh juices and milkshakes. The steak and seafood is surprisingly good for such a humble place. Portions are large, prices moderate, and you can't beat the ambience of classic red leatherette booths and a counter for solo diners. I've been eating here regularly since I moved to Manhattan almost 20 years ago and have never gotten anything but superb service for dining-in, takeout, and delivery. Try the Waverly Melt Deluxe or a piping-hot muffin from the cast-iron trays above the counter, yum.
