One of my favorite spots in all of nyc..
I'm a huge fan of the gastropub and make a point of seeking them out throughout my travels in Europe and the US, and this place is everything I look for and more! The food has items from several different cuisines, so there's always something for everybody. And the craft beer selection is always fantastic! I've been here countless times and always had a good experience with the servers; food comes promptly and I'm well-attended to. Great value for the money, especially for NYC. I highly recommend the BBQ, special game burger, and mac'n'cheese. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. The place has been on the block for over 20 years and I personally hope to be eating and drinking there for the next 20!

Quality Has Slipped Over the Years
My husband and I have been going here for the last 15 years. At one time in our lives, it was a neighborhood staple. Sadly, the waiters are starting to come across like caracatures from The Simpsons, very tatooed, disinterested and rude. The servings have shrunk considerably while the prices have climbed. And the biggest draw to the place, the ale and beer selection, has dwindled and become less interesting. At our last visit, we vowed it would be our last time.

Over-rated
I went here based on the reviews on MenuPages. It was a nightmare. First, we waited half an hour for a table. No problem, it was a Friday night. Couldn't sit at the bar, because someone had spilled what looked like an entire beer on the floor at the bar and there was no attempt to clean it up. Then, it took them an hour and a half to bring our food, which they claimed to be preparing from scratch, and it was cold! The food wasn't even good. Don't order the BBQ platter here; your money is better spent in Manhattan on much better, real BBQ. The waiter should have checked on us and offered us alternatives when he saw we had been waiting nearly two hours for our meals (only after we asked three times what was taking so long). I really do not understand why people rate this place highly. The floor around our table was full of food crumbs and debris to top off our wonderful dining experience!

Great neighborhood place
Of all the bars in the area the waterfront has fantastic food, great beers and good service. I thought price was reasonable for the quality of the food. Could be the Cheers of Brooklyn

best burger and fries in the area
there are a lot of burger places in this area, but waterfront has the best. their fries are also amazing. they're always crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. their pulled pork sandwich is also amazing!! their service is a little off, but they know the locals well. it's well worth the wait. delicious!

Great Local
I'm a world traveler of over 37 years and a professional waiter in an upscale manhattan steakhouse. This is my "local" and i love the quality of food and service i get here on a regular basis. Life isn't best enjoyed in a hurry and i like to relax and take my time over a few exotic beers from their extensive list. The food while pub grub , is better than any bar food, with very good chef driven creativity...pecan crusted salmon?

Tasty food but poor service
I go here often since the food is consistently good, but the service is almost always lacking -- it would be my one complaint about Waterfront (and the fact that they don't deliver).
