Best Sesame Chicken on UWS
The best sesame chicken on the upper west side (or anywhere, but that may be a bit broad of a statement). It can be a bit over-bready, but the taste is amazing. And it's white meat chicken.

Great food! Great delivery!
I have only ever ordered food from Water Moon as take out. Used to eat at Ollies, but when it closed for renovation we went looking for a replacement. Boy, did we find it! The food is very good across cuisines, the ingredients are very fresh and the recipes are never boring. Best of all, they deliver the food very quickly and it is piping hot. It's a bit more expensive than Ollies but there is no comparison when it comes to the quality of the food and the service.

Love it!
I love this place. They have awesome fried calamari rolls and I love their variety. Most places I've been to don't make calamari rolls. I'd recommend them to anyone that loves sushi/Japanese food.

run don't walk
Finally, good chinese food! I never thought it would happen again on the upper westside until I ordered from water moon. I was hesitant b/c I had been "burned" many times before and was hesitant since they have 3 separate types of cuisine: Chinese, Japanes and Thai, but I had a craving for Chinese and I'm thrilled I took a leap of faith. I ordered in so I can't speak about the atmosphere, but the food was great. The delivery was quick, w/out being too quick that you wonder if the food is really cooked. The quality is what stands out the most. It is not drenched in oil, the portions are normal sized, and seasoned very well. The duck dumplings are amazing, the ribs are meaty though small and the pan-fried noodles actually had crunch to it. And to top it off, the prices are very reasonable. The only other chinese food place that I would consider on par with this restaurant would be shun lee, and i think water moon is better b/c it is not bland and half the price.

Love it!
This is a great place to get tasty Asian food. If you're looking to get something "authentic" or standard(like, for example, you just want plain pad thai) then I would not recommend this place. But if you want something creative and tasty and you aren't fixated on having a dish prepared the way you're used to it being prepared, then Water Moon is a delicious surprise. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered so far and I get delivery from here frequently. On thing that I will admit, though, is that the prepared dishes definitely outshine the sushi. (Nothing wrong with the sushi- perfectly fresh and everything- just nothing to write home about.)

Not as tasty/good as Land
We decided to try Water Moon take out last night, instead of our traditional Land take out. I always judge thai restaurants by their Pad Thai. It was very... chinese like. Rather than thai. Soy flavor, slightly old peanuts, fried tofu rather than grilled or baked or boiled. I ordered the vegetarian type - and it had a few leeks and shallots - but no other veg. It was also greasy. My dining companion ordered a chicken thai dish that also seemed like chinese food - only greasier. I will not order out from Water Moon again. :(

Dry, Dry, Dry
What a disappointment. Good service but some of the worst sushi in the neighborhood. Fish quality good but the rice was dry and tasteless. Chicken dumplings lacked flavor and here too dryness prevailed. Almost good green beans spoiled by the obvious heavy hand of sugar. The Thai crab cakes were well cooked and seasoned. Tea is $5 a pot. Phooey.
