Best thai food in the slope
Great thai food at reasonable prices. One of my favourite spots in the slope.

Best thai on south slope
I used to walk down to long tan or song since the options on the south end of the slope were dissmal - but Watana is fantastic - great prices and great food - recently ate thai in the north slope and quite frankly it didnt match up! the food migration is happening!

What a treat
Go for the Thai chicken basil fried rice. Really nice spice to it. Also, the grilled pork appetizer is delicious. There's a wine store a block away that makes great recommendations (it's BYOB for now).

Very sweet
Wasn't a huge fan of this place. The menu is large and the service friendly, but I got the tofu basil and it was so sweet, it was like candy, and the syrupy sauce was all I could taste. There was very little spice in the dish. However, the Thai Iced Coffee (something that should, in my opinion, be sweet) was absolutely delicious and refreshing. I might go back for soup or appetizers because it's close by.

Just like Phuket
This is the best thai food I've had since I left thailand. I had the Grilled Honey Pork, the beef basil, and a coconut pineapple, pepper appetizer that I think was a special. Everything was delicious. I'm not sure what to think about the other folks reviews, but I recommend giving them a chance! It was really, really delicious and I eat and cook Thai food often.

Another off night
I read what another anonymous wrote about the off night for the restaurant and i have to say, tonight is another one. I had ordered from Watana before and it's never been a problem, however, when i called in my ordered to be delivered, it's been 2 hours and my order never showed up. I called repeatedly, after 45 mins of waiting and was told it was a busy night. The next time i called (30 mins later), i was told the delivery person had left and i should get my order any moment. Another 15 mins and no food. Again, i called and was told that they couldn't locate my address and that their calls to me went unanswered. I live 3 blocks from them and no calls ever came from them. We went through my address and 15 mins later, still no food. I called to cancel the order after 2 hours of waiting and was put on hold. The lady on the phone then dropped my call without any apologies or explanation. Not a good idea to order for delivery.

Perhaps an off night?
I went to Watana tonight and I have to say it doesn't sound like the same place everyone else is reviewing. We waited almost 5 minutes before being seated even though the place was half empty. We weren't brought any water after so my friend asked on her way to the bathroom and it still took another 5 minutes for it to arrive. And we never were given chopsticks, even after asking. The sauce for the panang curry was good, and there was a nice variety to the vegetables and they weren't over cooked. The tofu, however tasted overcooked and the summer rolls were not good. It also took a while to get our check, even though there were several groups waiting for our table. All in all... not a good experience - I much prefer the meals I've had at Beet, even if they are a tad pricier.
