    Best Artichoke Cheese Dip Evah!

Walters is on my list of favorite after work spots in Fort Greene. For real tho, the artichoke cheese dip is the best I've had. The cocktails are on point and the Caesar kale salad or the Brussels sprouts are yummy. Their popcorn shrimp are the worst. It's not what you are expecting and the mashed potatoes are a bit running. Stray away from those two items and you will not be disappointed.

    It's great

There will always be restaurant snobs who are all over yelp and menu pages whining, or in this case self-righteously moaning about how terrible a good restaurant is. To say that sending back at least one dish per meal is the rule of the house is completely inaccurate. I've eaten there 8 or 9 times (and I don't care about how "hip" anything in this world is. I don't buy into it). But I've never sent anything back. Once I had slightly below excellent service, but it was crazy busy and the server was brand new. Other than that, the food is pretty great. Burger is amazing. Cocktails are some of the best. And the service is 8 times out of 10 perfectly friendly and attentive.

    Food could be better

Food could be better, so could service management, and basically everything else. If you (too) like the unimaginative "French American Bistro" atmosphere with fabricated tainted mirrors, bartenders in bow ties and really don't care about the experience being more than average, mostly since all you do anyway is listen to your "hip" friend's suggestion, then this is the perfect place for you! Oh yeah, be prepared to send back at least one food item, or not get one. It's sort of the rule of the house. And if you decide to go there anyway (probably because a friend from out of town read about this place in a three year old guide from Small World). stick to the cheap stuff (in-spite what the wait staff will tell you, of course). The French Dip (sandwich) is the only thing you can get off the menu that you won't regret dearly, especially since it'll take you about an hour to get it. And not even that is especially good. Sorry guys, I have this nagging feeling that you were better before, like a year ago, or two or three. But honestly I think you've probably always been quite mediocre. It's just the fact that everyone was going ape shit over you that might have clouded my judgement. I guess I just woke up.

    Love This Gem

What a change. About a year before Walter Foods opened, we'd eaten there when the space housed a "Greek" restaurant. The place had no style. The floor space could not have been more poorly utilized. It was basically a bare room with a few "Greek" trifles. And, most importantly, the food was below subpar. Then Walter Foods comes in and brightens its side of Grand St. with delicious cocktails, the freshest raw bar and exquisite service. The servers and bar men tend to strike the perfect balance between what you'd expect to find in cloying suburbia and dispassionate hipster meccas. It can not be understated that the raw bar is so fresh. It demands a start of littleneck clams or oysters. If only their perfectly prepared fried oysters were a menu staple rather than a special. We generally exit perfectly satiated, tipsy on whiskey and slightly overstuffed from the bread pudding. See you there.

    Best whiskey- brunch

No matter the previous night, nothing starts a weekend off like whiskey, oysters and eggs at Walter's bar. The service is understatedly excellent and refreshingly void of the douchiness you get often.

    Service can't be beat!

My boyfriend and I ate here at like 1AM and had a total feast. The oysters were excellent, lobster roll was no joke, and service was amazing... The bar tender was a total entertainer and we had a blast. We will definitely be back for a late night snack.

    Good all around.

Walter foods offers a great menu, good service and atmosphere. They have a great selection for the raw bar and a good menu and cocktails. We usually sit at the bar and get oysters and their lobster roll is pretty amazing. It's consistently good and a great place to go to for a nice dinner or just drinks.
