Eat in the Bar, if you can afford it
I decided to give Burger Shoppe another try. Again, the burgers were waiting for me under a heat lamp, already wrapped. So this time i decided to eat in the bar upstairs. The burger was fresh and pretty good, but it wasn't worh the additional you pay. Its about a $1 or $2 more at the bar, and the soda you get is from a small glass bottle, only about 8 oz. All in all, the burgers are pretty good, but not worth it. Burger Burger around the corner is a better choice.

This place is the Real Deal
I have been going to the Burger Shoppe for a while now. The staff there knows my name which I think is pretty special for a restaurant in New York City. I usually stick to the Real Deal, that is 2 shoppe burgers, onion rings and a coke. It hits the spot every time. The service is friendly and my food comes real fast. The upstairs bar is awesome and is a great escape from the fast paced downstairs. I look forward to my weekly trips to the burger shoppe. If you haven't gone there yet you absolutely must!

The Obama Burger, WOW
I went into the Burger Shoppe and they had a burger of the day posted above the register. It was a slice of fresh mozzarella, hamburger, marinara sauce, Parmesan cheese, and some basil. Although it didn't seem like it would be a good combo it was absolutely out of this world. I will definitely be returning soon!

Burgers got to be bigger!
The decor is grungy old school diner, and upstairs it's hole in the wall bar. But I think this is what the owners wanted. I think it worked. As for the burgers, they were good, but why are they so small? I got the twin, and expected to barely finish the second, but they were barely larger than a slider. I left still thinking I could have had several more. To boot, it was kind of pricey. You could probably go to Nebraska for the same price and be full.

You'll Leave Hungy
I have never written a review before but I had to based on my experience. $20 for a burger, fries and milk shake and I am still hungry. The burger is fast food, at best. This place needs to revisit what they are dishing out.

wall street recession shoppe!
this place is overpriced for the amount & quality of food that u receive! any reviewers saying "oh my experience was ok, u must have gone on an off day" ummm is that really acceptable? when ur charging the prices that this place charges everyday should be an "on day"! why should i go spend $15 on a meal there hoping that the staff is on the ball that day & that my burger will be good & what i asked for & worth my hard earned cash?!? most of the days i stop in seem to be off days.. the staff always looks either bored or confused or like they just really dont wanna be there.. u can see them scrambling around to get orders correct.. dont even bother with the bar upstairs unless u like poor service & eating in a dark morgue which is the atmosphere of that room, i made the grave mistake of bringin some of my clients there for a dinner & some drinks & the shoppe made a fool out of me,

Very good and not too expensive!
I went to the Burger Shoppe for lunch today, and I ordered the Junior Special - burger, fries/onion rings combo, and coke for $10. Everything was very good and service was quick. The people that reviewed below and had bad food must have been there for an off day, because my food was very good! In combination with the area (lack of quality restaurants downtown) this place gets four stars in my book!
