Fun for family brunch
We did a Sunday brunch here for 8 of us and had a great meal. The prices were reasonable and the food and coffee were delicious. The decor was fun and kitchy which helped entertain the kids. Can't wait to try for lunch or dinner!

Great Place
Each time I've come to Vynl, the food has been great - the portions are perfect and the prices are extremely fair. Creative and fairly vast menu a plus. Love their spinach and mashed potatoes. The hostess & wait staff are extremely friendly and just attentive enough. The drink options are creative (ie. The White Album) and tasty. Plus the decor is kitschy, but not in a bad way; it's kind of endearing. Love that the menus are old record covers and love the bathrooms!

Average
Atmosphere and decor here is really cool. The waitress was also very nice but the Lemon Chicken Wrap was very average. the rice in the wrap was not prepared in any sauce and the chicken was bland. I might be persuaded to try something else here just to see the interiors again. The value for money was average. I paid 12$ including tip.

My favorite place in the 'hood
I've lived in the West 50's for almost 10 years now and I still haven't found a better place overall than Vynl in the neighborhood, particularly for breakfast/brunch. Everyone I bring to Vynl likes it-- my parents, friends, and even very particular children. The food and service are excellent. A varied menu helps ensure there is something appealing for just about anyone. I particularly like the Breakfast Burrito.

Vinyl
When Vynl was at 54th and 9th, it was by far my favorite "where should we go for dinner" restaurant. Great food, great view of the passing parade on 9th Ave., friendly staff. I was excited when I learned it'd be moving literally around the corner from me, at 51st and 9th, but since it moved it's been a disappointment. The old Vynl was loud; the new one is ear-splitting. The food is still good, but I was disappointed to find that with brunch items, you're only given ONE slice of toast. Every Greek diner in the city, every other restaurant gives you two. But not the New Vynl.

Overall: I'd go again
Fun atmosphere with kitschy pop music decor (ex: menus inside record covers). Ordered some sweet potato wontons that were very flavorful. TLT (Tofu/Lettuce/Tomato) was pretty good- but don't expect a straight replica of a BLT—it’s more of it's own thing (grilled tofu inside thick bread with sweet chili and mayo). The diet coke tasted a little watered down but that may have been the fountain on that day. The food we ordered didn't blow our mind but it was nice, the service was great, and the overall experience was a good one- I'll go back and try out some different dishes.

Disappointed!!
If anything, the atmosphere was good, and the bathrooms were actually really great! However, I did /not/ care for the food or its price. I got the veggie BLT and found it really bland and it wasn't anything special. Just some soggy toasted bread and some uncooked tofu they chopped up and put sauce on. The service was extreemely slow on top of that. Really wanted to like Vynl a lot more, but I won't be returning.
