Great place for veg*n's and omnivores

Vynl has a nice eclectic menu. We went last nght for the first time and the food was pretty good with very decent prices. I'm vegan and my boyfriend totally isn't, but we both were able to find what we like. The soups were great-we had split pea with mushroom and butternut squah chowder(had a wonderful thai pepper spice with coconut milk). The bowls were big and pretty filling. He had the salmon and I had the vegetable basil stir fry with jasmine rice. Both had a nice flavor but were light. It was nice to go to a restaurant where flavor is spice and veggie based instead of oil or butter based. Only improvement would be more staff people (our waitress was a little slow and rude). Overall, I'd recommend. Oh btw, they're moving to a new location soon 9th ave and 51st street.

    Vynl Rocks

Go for the omeletes and hashbrowns - best brunch deal in manhattan, And a fun atmosphere. Hopefully nothing will be lost in the move a little further down 9th avenue.

Great place for friends and family

By far the best place for a birthday or gathering with old friends. I eat here at least once a month and over 7 years have brought over 100 people through the doors. Not one person has disliked it. Filled with color and charm anyone can enjoy their plentiful menu which caters to carni's and vegivores... also, the watermelon/lemonade is to die for...

    Good Price, Very Good Food

I went here for the first time the other day after seeing a show (9th ave in general is beautiful for those who need to eat before/after a Broadway show and don't want an overpriced tourist trap!), and absolutely loved it. It was not crowded (it was Sunday at around 5). The waiter made casual conversation but was not overbearing, and the service was quick and efficient. I had steamed chicken/vegetables with peanut sauce and my companion had a very large wrap with avocado and bacon, and the total came to around 28 dollars (including a glass of wine), which is VERY reasonable for this part of the city. The cocktail prices are absurd, but if you just want good food and satisfying portions for a reasonable price, this is a great place.

    Can't Wait to Go Back!

I was hesitant to come here b/c it seems intimated to be a tacky diner- do not be misled! It is funky & fun and the waitstaff couldn't be friendlier. The drinks are inventive & delicious & the food is generously portioned, under-priced & absolutely scrumptious.

    I heart Vynl

Vynl is one of those restaurants I keep going back to and recommending to friends. The food is great, and they have quite a variety of dishes, although I always get the vegetable and basil stir-fry for a yummy, healthy meal. I suggest finishing with a chocolate dessert! From shakes to quesadillas to pad thai, Vynl offers comforting food in a relaxed, fun setting. Great for delivery, too.

    Completely worth it

Food is cheap, food is outstanding, and the apple crumb pie is to die for. That's all I need.
