Such FUN!
I was just looking for another place to eat, going through the places listed here, saw Vynl listed and thought about my recent happy accident there! Thought I'd share... was in the West Village on a Saturday afternoon recently and was too hungry to wait til dinner so decided to pop in somewhere & eat. Happened upon Vynl, looked cute and went in to check out the menu. Really fun, but how good could the food be, right? Well... amazing! That's how good!!! First of all, they had just started a champagne brunch... wasn't quite in the mood for that so I opted for what I was told by the adorable bartender I had to try... the new bloody mary made with yellow tomatoes! Delish! had two! Had the BBQ plate and was savoring every morsel and was happy, happy! My friend had the Monte Cristo, better than any before, so clean and tasty and not fried and greasy as usual. It all became clear why everything was so Yum when we saw the Chef come out in the room and chat with diners.... Top Chef Dave! Could not believe it! We chatted with him a bit and even got a pic with him! SOOO nice and engaging! So... food, service, vibe, and... Top Chef Dave! Can't wait to go back!!! :)

Finally a brunch that fills you up!!
I decided to try out Vynl because I love Chef Dave Martin from Top Chef, and he is the Corporate Chef of all Vynl restaurants. The decor of the restaurant is really cute, and the menus look like records. Fun, but not in a kitcshy stupid way. Our waiter was extremely attentive and patient while we waited for our third guest, and kept coming over to assure that he had not forgotten about us. The menu is quite extensive, with several brunch and lunch items to choose from. I got the omelette and it was amazing. Goat cheese is not always a choice for omelettes and they have that at Vynl. When the food arrived, my plate had a huge omelette, a HUGE hash brown, and a piece of toast. I have been to so many cute brunch places with small portions lately, and when it comes to brunch, I want to eat and leave full! The food was delicious, and I left very full. For great food, great portions, and under 15 bucks, it is a good spot!

best pad thai ever
best pad thai anywhere ever. they put chinese broccoli in it and its great. the butternut squash wontons and the coconut banana bread pudding is also fantastic. i dont think anything else on the menu is worth getting but those 3 items are the best of their kind.

Mix of good and bad
Vynl is one of the few restaurants in the neighborhood that has milkshakes, although the service is what stops me from coming here more often. I hesitate to go to Vynl on my lunch hour because the service is typically slow and I don't want to be late getting back to work. I actually like the turkey burger. It's not what you typically expect. It's refreshing and light, with chives mixed into the patty and a tangy sauce, and is especially good if you add swiss cheese. The outside seating is nice on warm days.
