Down the hill we go
Sad Vynl used to really know how to rock it out.. Still love the one in Hells Kitchen but the Chelsea one... Not so much. Poor service...snotty waitstaff.. And don't even try to get a delivery order. They just don't ever show up.

Service surprise
The best I can say is the food was edible, but not much fun. Dining with loud pop music should have warned us, but conversation ultimately became possible. Eschew the tasteless desserts, the baked clams in a paper bag, the steak. I guess I'll be back once again to give them another try.

Delivery: once, not again.
I ordered the veggie burger for delivery on a weeknight and I was so excited to try it. I've been hearing of this place for so long I had to make my own opinion. The food took quite a while to finally get to me that when I got it, it was barely warm. The bun looked smashed and sloppy and there was oil oozing out of my veggie burger. I did eat it since I was hungry but I have no desire to return again. *The uptown location is much better than this 1.

Best Veggie Burger Ever
I went into Vynl, for the first time, with some friends that frequent the spot...they live in Chelsea and its one of their favorites. It was so cute! We went in around 7 and the place was busy, but not crazy. Our server was very friendly and helpful. When we asked about their cocktails, he suggested we try the Cool as A Cucumber martini..it was SO delicious..perfect summertime drink. As far as the food, I had the Veggie burger and I have to say its the best I've ever had. It comes on multigrain bread with Havarti cheese and you can actually see the vegetables in it. Delicious. This place is a lot of fun. Great service, great food, great drinks, great vibe. I will be back soon.

Such FUN!
I was just looking for another place to eat, going through the places listed here, saw Vynl listed and thought about my recent happy accident there! Thought I'd share... was in the West Village on a Saturday afternoon recently and was too hungry to wait til dinner so decided to pop in somewhere & eat. Happened upon Vynl, looked cute and went in to check out the menu. Really fun, but how good could the food be, right? Well... amazing! That's how good!!! First of all, they had just started a champagne brunch... wasn't quite in the mood for that so I opted for what I was told by the adorable bartender I had to try... the new bloody mary made with yellow tomatoes! Delish! had two! Had the BBQ plate and was savoring every morsel and was happy, happy! My friend had the Monte Cristo, better than any before, so clean and tasty and not fried and greasy as usual. It all became clear why everything was so Yum when we saw the Chef come out in the room and chat with diners.... Top Chef Dave! Could not believe it! We chatted with him a bit and even got a pic with him! SOOO nice and engaging! So... food, service, vibe, and... Top Chef Dave! Can't wait to go back!!! :)

maybe the owner finally got the message that you can't serve crappy food in chelsea...this location brought in a tv chef that can actually cook, so far...the menu is much improved...

Finally a brunch that fills you up!!
I decided to try out Vynl because I love Chef Dave Martin from Top Chef, and he is the Corporate Chef of all Vynl restaurants. The decor of the restaurant is really cute, and the menus look like records. Fun, but not in a kitcshy stupid way. Our waiter was extremely attentive and patient while we waited for our third guest, and kept coming over to assure that he had not forgotten about us. The menu is quite extensive, with several brunch and lunch items to choose from. I got the omelette and it was amazing. Goat cheese is not always a choice for omelettes and they have that at Vynl. When the food arrived, my plate had a huge omelette, a HUGE hash brown, and a piece of toast. I have been to so many cute brunch places with small portions lately, and when it comes to brunch, I want to eat and leave full! The food was delicious, and I left very full. For great food, great portions, and under 15 bucks, it is a good spot!
