Crap on Coney Island Ave
Food is mediocre & overpriced. Absolutely no atmosphere. Needs art, color & better lighting.

Oasis on Cortelyou
excellent food for a great price. The chef at this restaurant is amazing and rivals the nearby Farm restaurant. The breaded portabello mushroom with goat cheese is classic. Pasta and fish dishes are delicious. Atmosphere is lacking as there is a bar with televisions in the front, lighting is bright and the location is not in a prime location other than high traffic but I highly recommend this establishment.

hidden in plain sight
Don't be misled by the location, the "bar food" moniker, or the misleading description of this restaurant as a cocktail lounge. Sure, it has an attractive and well stocked bar, but most important, it is a very fine restaurant, with a pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, and fine food. My wife and I hesitated entering this place because it seemed, from the outside, to be just a local bar. No way. Step inside, and just past the bar is a clean, well-lit, pleasant dining area. The menu offers a limited but sufficiently varied menu of wines, appetizers, salads, and entrees, even a vegetarian selection. And it is very family friendly. Since we first dined at Visions we have been back several times, and have introduced it to our friends and neighbors, who were as pleasantly surprised as we were. It is a very bright spot on the Brooklyn dining scene, and a welcome addition to the Flatbush neighborhood. Just don''t be put off by its inconspicuous location! Come inside, you won't regret it.
